I've just come across some video on youtube and noticed these nice tires.

The guys from GYAR RC are selling Lucnhbox-sized tires with the classic Sand paddle look. I was wondering if anybody here is using them these days, and if so how would you rate them?

Amazing! I’ve been doing all sorts of tinkering to try and get a sand paddle on a GF01 without expensive 3D printed parts. Will be interested if the tyre will fit with an existing 12mm hex rim.

Are those the Comical wheels, allowing the WW2-sized tyres to fit? They look great!

EDIT: they appear to be their own wheels, a dark set area available on eBay for approx $76, tyres are similar cost. The white wheels and sand paddles aren't listed.

I did see these type and style of sand-paddle tyres on eBay some time ago for Lunchbox . They came as a wheel & tyre set with special wheel adapters to mount them but I don't think they fit on the stock LB / MP rims . They also came as slicks , on-road / & off-road tyres options. The ones shown on the jeep look to be the right thing . I guess some R&D by these guys have found a gap in the market .Their website seems to show a comparison of their rims against WW2 rims , so they might fit stock Tamiya rims , but I can't translate the script .

For some reason the image or link doesn't work for me Kev. But these "sand tires unlimited - paddle" are not the other Chinese tires that doesn't fit the standard WW2 wheels.

Chinese sand paddles with odd inner diameter:

These ones are different. The new GYAR ones are more like the WW1 tires but bigger:

They look this way mounted on stock WW2 wheels:

Here's GYAR website: http://stortau.livedoor.blog/

And this video shows tire comparison and all:

It's in Japanese but images are useful.

Now I wonder how expensive these things are...

May or may not be relevant to this thread but I have these tyres and they fit a 2.2 truck wheel.

They come up at 114x61mm.

Where I measure Schumacher Mini Spikes at 101x52.5 and Stagger Rib at 103x50mm.

Which I think is going to be great for my use.

Yeah I now realise it says 110mm in the description but it's a while ago I ordered! 😂
