I just saw this and wow! But to complete this is quite expensive.  The main chassis alone is $90. The rest of the aluminum parts will cost about $250. So total of $340.

Optional battery placement which is cool.

Yes, there are more and more aluminium chassis options appearing. The Wild One seems to be having a bit of a renaissance. I recently picked up an old Wild One and FAV both of which I’m restoring but going away from box art. I’ve also got a Blockhead edition which I am itching to start on now that I have all the parts for it that I want.

Have you seen the Knight Customs Sand Rail Wild One? Quite a different look but definitely interesting. I’ve ordered some other parts of theirs including the engine. All really nicely designed.

Yup I saw it. But this one I posted just seems to look a lot better to be honest.

Well, it's costly, and Aluminium is nice, but all depends what you want to do with it:

- on a beach, I would not dare running with a wild one chassis like this one due to the sand sea and salt...

- aluminium doesn't break but it bends in case of hitting some solid obstacle... Ultimately, you would have to change the chassis - something that happened a lot to original Kyosho Ultima's owners who had probably a set of bended chassis next to their Ultima. At the end it depend the thickness, but you may break something else if you do not bent the chassis.

That being said, yes, it's nice... But for the cost, would rather consider a Kyosho Legendary series car :-)

I might actually go for this..   I don't want to add any more cars to my collection (oh who are we kidding, I do.. but wifey says it's at full capacity now so..) and have a decent Wild One that I only run on occasion.  I like the battery placement mostly and think it will make for a nice looker..  Will post some pics if I do get it and some other goodies to match.

I do not see any of theese chinese aluminium upgrades ever on eastern RCs.

There are a lot of chinese aluminium Upgrades for the Clodbuster.

I wondered if anyone uses them. Are the shocks usable or are they junk?

I own that Chassisbrace/extension and it is the best Upgrade i ever bought for my Clod. Paired with oilshocks and an anti sway Bar it is a nice Monstertruck (just a bit slow).

But there has to be a scene anywhere in asia that uses that Parts. Sadly u dot find any Youtube content with easter Searchterms....

I fully agree with you. Also, most of these parts are of no actual technical benefit. The WO tub has quite a few weaknesses that would deserve some attention. The aluminum chassis may offer some benefits in that respect, but as you indicate, introduces drawbacks and weaknesses that the plastic tub doesn't have.

When I first saw a small photo of the aluminum chassis a couple of weeks ago, I was at first excited. I hoped for it to be a "scale" chassis, but instead it's rather more like a "period" correct racing chassis similar to what Hot Trick and others could have released in the eighties. For me personally, the WO is primarily about scale looks and the relatively poor handling and durability don't bother me much. Changing from the original tub to this aluminum chassis would make the WO look less scale, in my humble opinion. So regardless of the price, it couldn't possibly make it on my "wish list".

I quite like the sand rail as they are doing something a bit different with it. I don’t like the look more than a WO though so probably wouldn’t get one (at least not yet).

But I don’t quite get this chassis, won’t they just create weak points elsewhere? I also think most of the parts, shocks especially, lose the scale look.

Edit: sorry, just saw all the new posts which say what I was going to say but they do it better! ;)
