I'm trying to get the wheel nuts off of my TT-02 so I can clean the insides of my wheels, but the wheel nuts will not loosen at all. No matter how much I push on my wheel wrench to try and get them to loosen, they won't budge.

Last time I had to put the wheel nuts back on the car, I tightened them enough that they wouldn't fall off while I was driving the car, but also so that I could still easily loosen them if needed. Now I can't even get them off whatsoever.

Try heating the axle with a soldering iron to see if that helps, and even try using some extra leverage on the box wrench. Are the nuts standard Tamiya lock nuts? Or serrated style?

I think they're just standard Tamiya nuts (12mm hex AFAIK).

Have you tried a bit of leverage first? That’s where I’d start, stick a (some kind of) bar into one side of a box wrench and try that

Do they turn any amount, does it turn the driveshaft as you are undoing the nuts, if you left them loose last time, it may have snapped the drive pins in the hex behind the wheel.

No, they don't turn at all. I put so much pressure on the wrench and they won't budge. The driveshaft doesn't move either when undoing them.

Did you just get them really really tight, it are they corroded on ?

Just really tight I assume...

The tip about the soldering iron, heat the nut a bit so it expands a bit more than the axle...then using a plastic safe spray, or water, to chill the nut quickly.

Then heat nut and see if it "let's go"...thermal shock sometimes works, it does with full size stuff, just be aware of all the delicate plastic stuff...

As a last resort, you have a Dremel ? But be aware of heat build up.

Good luck.

As a last last resort, if you are worried about the Dremel damaging your wheels, either through contact or heat, (and assuming you can get a decent grip on the nut), you could just put your back into it and twist off the nut and axle stub in one piece? Replacement TT-02 axles are easy to get, and often cheaper than wheel sets.

check the wheel hexes if you ever get the tires off. i had trouble once when the plastic wheel hex mount cracked.  it makes it hard to turn the nut  to loosen it. check for hairline cracks on the wheel hex.
