Re-Re Top Force Evolution 5700kv Brushless on 3S Lipo

Recommended Posts

Time to start on the next build! Just waiting for my Castle 5700kv smart sense motor to come in, when paired with the Copperhead 10 ESC the motor adjusts timing as you drive and changes from sensored to sensorless after you launch! Been waiting a long time for this one to come in and very excited

Ok, it’s the B tree you want, depending where you are either Seidel, RC Mart , RC Jazz or even Stella Models,

it will be plenty fast enough on a 2 cell, but you will need spares on a 3 cell with that motor combo.

probably be wise to get a few spare spur gears too, or try the pinion slipper gears

Thank you for the info sir, much appreciated. What exactly happens to the gearbox housings, do they split apart? If so, do you think putting some JB weld all the way around the mating surfaces  before assembly would keep them together?

Also, what are pinion slipper gears? Is that a hop up or stock gears? Thank you

Never heard of a slipper pinion before, maybe this the ta02 high speed gears 47393.

Dont worry start the build!

Ok, not sure if JB weld would help, the housings crack , there are mods on this site to reinforce the housing , they last longer , but still crack

There is a thread on here about a pinion gear with a built in slipper, yes sounds crazy but they work, the slipper was actually fitted to a df 01 top force , with some extra mods to the rear gearbox housing to get it to fit, nothing drastic

Ball bearing steering?? This thing is pretty advanced for the early 90's lol Loving the technology of this kit!

Both gearboxes attached to the chassis along with the driveshaft. So glad they got rid of this junk dog bones throughout this kit.

Love the shell and spoiler! Going to apply the decals tomorrow then solder the ESC battery connector on once the Castle motor comes in.

Great build. Every time I see anything about the TFE  I fall a bit more in love. Really looking forward to seeing your complete and hearing how it drives. Given your plans it should be quite a handful 😉

Thank you sir, gotta say this is definitely my favourite car of all time and I'm happy to finally own one! My motor was delivered today so after work I should be able to get everything hooked up for a test run :D

Do those tyres have a different outer diameter front and rear? Can't tell too well from the photos, but if they do, I can't imagine the drivetrain will like it.

Oh yeah, big time lol They're drag slicks which I believe are meant for a RWD car. This is 4WD so they may cause issues but I just put them on for fun, I'd like to do a few runs just on the street to see how fast I can get this thing to go, won't be doing many jumps.

Oops, just did some reading and because it doesn't have a center diff then running on pavement can actually be worse for it! Well that's a bummer

Carisma make one, you need to mod the gearbox housing to make it fit.
