I was running my df03 on a carpet track for the first time and melted the rear diff on it during a run. Is there a gear diff that will work in the rear of it?

Are you using the kit standard plastic diff outdrives?

The fix for the short comings of this are to buy another set of the metal diff parts that are used in the front and build them into the rear.

Change the balls to ceramic, and make sure that the rings are perfect, too.

No idea why they have the plastic in the rear. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

The rear diff is a weak link on the df03, it goes all melty at the first sign of work.

Upgrade is :-

19808059 - Front diff joints

50880  - TF04 diff plates (if you glued the plates on? Don't need to glue, with the above diff joints)

51248 - Stock spur bag, or I got - 51369 spur bag for the df03ra, same diff gear, but gives you a couple of larger spurs for gear options..

Schumacher U7281- Tungsten carbide 3mm diff balls, I prefer these over ceramic.

Schumacher U1301 Diff lube, (seemingly Associated's Diff lube is good too, but as Schumacher invented the ball diff, I stick with them...)

If you're running brushless, it's a good idea to run a slipper (plus main gear mod if running low turn brushless), and set the slipper to slip, just before the diff does.

Also some more info on this thread, @Galaxy76 did get a gear diff to fit, but the above mods, have been fine for me for years.
