Some updates on progress

2.4g radio fitted , battery in . I made another gear cover . This time slightly different from the other one , this one is much easier to fit and remove with the 'bridge' over the battery band hook on the tub . I made an aluminium rear bumper and fitted an SRB whip ariel for effect . fitted a mesh in the rear louvres on the shell for effect . Light fitted with custom lense stickers and driver is in and fuel cans on . I won't be doing much more with the shell other than putting on some American matt white stars and serial numbers etc . Still looking for some half decent rear tyres to run .

I thought about finding a solution to the rear tyre issues on the HB & SR  so with some thought I looked at the SB 915s as they are good grip and plentiful . I took  Brat front wheel , removed the front and back and the HB rims fit well .  I removed the Brat spokes to leave the centre boss. I then cut the original HB rim beads down to 4mm outer and 4.5 inner , this gives a nice squeeze to the tyre like the original HB . The HB rims are  slightly smaller in diameter than the Brat so I glued a strip to the HB rim circumference to fill the tyre bead . . More pics to come

They say you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. It would appear they are wrong. Remarkable! What a good job you have done. Love it!

Nah , just kidding

While I'm waiting for the final stickers to arrive I thought I'd mess around . The wheels are Tomahawks from my #46 Scorcher but they give a nice look to a HB and probably look even better on a Sand Rover

What an amazing job you've done. From basket case to crisp, clean and sharp model.

I can't help feeling like it could do with some road dust. Are you going to run it?

I might be tempted now that I have 2.4G radio in it . When I get a chance I'll get it outside ;)
