Hi,

Anyone try APlastic bodies?   I am curious on the quality.  The Wheelbase fits typical Tamiya cars such as TT-0x road series. They have very obscure cars such as Subaru Forster and Volvo 240.  The American classic muscle cars are nice but the station wagons have my interest, esp Audi RS6 Avant.  https://aplastics-rc.com/store/bodies?page=1

Also anyone know about ABC Hobby body quality?  These appear to be licensed.  The ones I am interested in are the classic 1970’s Celica and fit Tamiya M series with shorter wheelbase.

thanks in advance

I have run ABC bodies a very long time ago.  Decals that were in my Silvia body was not as detailed as Tamiya, but the overall body was about the quality of HPI, if not a tad poorer.

It was not ‘deformed?’ like Protoform bodies.  They look like cars and not space probes (to me at least).

I’ve not tried ABC’s current line up.   I think their tuner cars look good.

I’ll vouch for ABC Hobby.  I purchased the BRE 510 for a M-chassis last year and a 510 in standard 1/10 touring for a friend for Christmas. The body details are excellent.  Decal ink seems a bit thin/transparent, but is definitely acceptable.  I believe the Lexan grade they use can become brittle if left outdoors, more so than the big name companies (HPI, ProLine, Protoform, etc). If Tamiya quality is a 10, I rate ‘em 8.5. However, I give ‘em a 10 for producing the all the classic JDM cars that would otherwise be impossible to acquire.

i got a lexan ABC Sileighty body i havent gotten around to cutting/painting yet. ABC does have a decent collection of bodies that are hard to find.

Thanks @Willy iine @SupraChrgd82 @nel33 for the feedback.  Agree some other company bodies look like jellybeans as they make the car from a simple single mould.  I believe Tamiya uses a 3 piece mould process on most of their cars as you can see the faint joint line. ABC’s old school JDM line is my interest. Celica 1600 and BRE Datsun 240 look great.

I hope to hear back from others on Aplastics

I have two Aplastics bodies, an 87 Grand National and Mustang Notchback to replicate my real cars.  Quality of the bodies is good, but decals are awful.  After 2 years most of them are coming up on the edges.  If they have something obscure that you like I would recommend them.   They also come with decent light buckets, put them in the Mustang below.

@87lc2 Thanks.  Your cars look great and they do have a selection of models I cannot find anywhere.  By the way I think Tamiya has decal adhesive to help with your problem.

That's a good idea, I should give it a try.  Thank you.
