TBH I cannot see any receiver on the last photo. Maybe it's missing. It is the box where both servos are connected and where the antenna ends. I see on your first post in the thread that there is no antenna on the Falcon, so maybe the receiver was taken out before it was stored on the loft.

Thank you for the info!

I have just received a brand new GOLDEDT 7.2V 3300 mAh battery through the post! Quick question! Should I charge it before use or is it ready to connect? If I need to charge it, for how many hours?

I was planning on using the original Acoms charger that came with my Hornet when new which if I recall, was the slow charger.

Sorry for the daft questions but I don't want to ruin a brand new battery.

Thanks,

Richie.

Wait, did you use this charger to charge a NiMH battery? A NiMH charger can charge NiCd batteries, but a NiCd charger like this will overcharge and possibly damage NiMH batteries.

The screaching is most likely the motor bearings that have dried out . Some light oil into the ends of the motor could solve that - or a new motor . If you buy a BEC receiver you won't need the AA battery box to run it , you just plug in the steering servo lead and the lead from the speed controller switch and it will be powered up by the stick battery . You can simplify things and make running more efficient by fitting an ESC instead of the servo and speed controller -a Hobbywing Quicrun1060 or similar , easy to fit - plug and play . The gear box could do with a stripdown as it is probs filled with old greae etc , and get some ballrace bearings for gearbox and wheels to help run time and smoothness
