It looks 99% complete, and in fantastic condition.  I suggest that you find a copy of the manual and acquire the little bits such as the tranny seal plugs & period-correct TX and either display the lot or run it very gently so as not to damage or scratch it.

You're very fortunate to have found one in that condition. Even the axles are glossy, not having oxidized from grubby hands touching the raw aluminum.  Very nice.

Hi there, SupraChrgd82 !

Thanks for the kind suggestion ! Yeah, I did download the manual from tamiyaclub (a BIG BIG thank you to the all Good People at tamiyaclub !!) and I'll try to "study" it...soon !

I did also download a 'Tamiya Bruiser/Mountaineer Transmission Service Manual' created by Mr. Koping Hu and this is his website : http://www.kope.com/bruiser/  which I accidently bumped into.

Some nice info on the Bruiser and Mountaineer as well !

Have you came ever came across the Transmission Service Manual, SupraChrgd82 (or anyone)? If you did, will you take apart the transmission?

In your case, it looks to have been built meticulously in accordance with the manual.  It's likely that the trans is not in need of any service.  You may be able to feed it some Tamiya grease through the open ports and enjoy an occasional jaunt through your yard as it sits.  Does the trans feel smooth and shift as it should?  If so, that would be an indicator as to it's condition.

I wish I could offer more detail on the trans.  My Bruiser has an Engle single speed, and the only other 3-speed I had was the High Lift version.  If your confident in rebuilding and it gives piece of mind. there is no harm with servicing it.

Yeah, it sure does ! I gotta thank (and I did!) to the previous owner who really did a good job on doing so! He just displayed this truck and never ran it !

Yes, the tranny is very smooth (I just pushed it frontwards and backwards) and I hope that the 'shift mechanism' does work because it didn't come with the transmitter ! I believe the correct transmitter would be the 'Futaba 4YWD' by looking at the R124 receiver .... I think I'll have a go on servicing the tranny !

Thank you very, very much (and to all the Good People as well !) for sharing some awesome info ! Really appreciate it !!
