Tamiyaclub Official Top 10 Fastest RC'ers (Part 3)

Recommended Posts

@Tamiyastef List is updated

Still working on the most entries list, I'm most the way through and keeping track of everyone on the list. Overall top fastest and silvercan entries are not counted as they also appear in the other categories.

I don’t think this puts me on the list but thought you might find it interesting as it’s somewhat unique.  I’m trying to see how fast I can get my Tamiya TT-02 with a brushed motor and NiMh battery. This is for the Poor Boys RC Speedrun Challenge.

while I am waiting for some new NiMh batteries to show up, I wanted to see what I could do with 3s LiPo on my vintage brushed setup to see if I could hang with the big boys in the brushless group. I’m running a Tekin 411-G2 ESC and a Kinwald Dirtinator motor

I was able to pull 71mph.

Thanks for watching

I think he’s still the top, Later today I’ll make it official and put a top five list or something.

Brilliant!

Once the top speed spot became, pretty much out of reach, its a top spot, that is still achievable! 😁

Looks like all the info is in the post and meets the requirements, so congrats on the number 2 spot (again ) on the modified list!

Unfortunately this was the end of my speed runs. Most of my focus has been on drag racing.

Great run!

Welcome to the , oh so close to 60mph , club! 😁

(Congratulations on not doing 'just one more run' to crack 60 too, and blowing up and expensive castle esc, like I did..🤦‍♂️😂).

Loving the Lunchbox body, thats got some stories to tell 🫡

Where did you get the gears?

Presuming they're steel?

Doesn't look like I've run my lunchbox, and it'll give me an extra number on the ' most cars' list to equal Jason....

(Although, with @Phil_H now having his own successfull 'Tomley RC ' YouTube channel, he'll be able to get that lead within a week....😏)

Thanks!

The pinion is an OTS steel. I designed and printed the spur. And the diff is stock with a locker.

What's the advantage of this setup for speedruns?  Voltage is still 3S level, runtime increases... IIRC

No criticism, purely out of interest.

More cells means more MAH. Discharge is a combination of C x MAH, so the more cells the more it can discharge.

it also helps with voltage sag.

When I tried one battery the voltage sag was really bad, so bad after 4 passes the battery died. Higher the voltage more rpms.

The C in C rating is 'C'apacity.

5000mah is 5Ah

A 100C battery would be 100 X 5 = 500Amp max discharge current.

And some people say , you'll never use algebra when you leave school!! 😁

Thanks, but after checking my speed I felt no shame, especially since it's the 2nd time I've ran the car and that it's my budget build speed run build, can't wait to test some others I have built.
