Welcome home! 🙄🤣

Got a wee DT03 speedrun build in the wings, once the Scottish weather plays ball 🤦‍♂️

oh... I need to get my DT03 out. Although my local roads are getting a little too tired and busy for speed runs.

Are they Kyosho Turbo Scorpion wheels?

There's a DT03 on @stew_mac FB speed run page at 92Mph, so I need to pull my finger out!! 😳

Aye, you've lost your runway playground!! 🤦‍♂️

I used Google earth, for a scout about the area, and found a 3 lane wide road, in an industrial estate, which is empty on a Sunday AM, on my way home off a nightshift 🙄

Yeah, Needed to swap the front bearings, and that's about it (but gone with slightly wider rear aluminium hexes, just to try and add some stability tbh)

The DT03 has 1150 bearings (5 x 11 x 4 to the rest of us, shaft dia x wheel hub dia x bearing width),

The Kyosho wheel uses 4 x 8 x 3

Used 5 x 8 x 2.5 bearings (850 in Tamiya money) , although they're 0.5mm too thin, they seem to be fine 🤷‍♂️.

Loosing the airfield access is the biggest 'loss' since leaving work.

It was so easy to grab an RC Car and do a speed run, where as now I have to wait until weekends or late evenings(in the summer) and use a local 'okay' road. But I guess that's what most other people have to do

@Losi XXT-CR Congrats! you are number 29 on the 4wd list, awesome run! Unfortunately since we have no way of knowing if the tumble at 1:36 had an effect on the speed, rule 7 says can't count the Mad bull run :(

Modified Tamiya MF-01X.

121mph as measured by GNSS

Castle MMX8S with 1412 6400KV motor

Gens Ace 3s LiHv 6500 mAh pack

Contact foam wheels

1:2.43 final drive.

Tamiya Ford GT MK II body

In the video, you can skip ahead to 6:29 for the speed run. I hope the run counts. No crashes, but my ESC had a thermal shutdown. I had to power cycle the esc to drive it back.

I modified the MF-01X chassis from a rear motor to mid motor delivering power through the prop shaft similar to a more conventional 4WD RC.

Been having another play with the GPS and some more runs. I know none are "quick" in terms of the fast cars listed in this thread. But for fairly standard bashers in their normal config I'm reasonably happy.

Tamiya Lunchbox - rwd

26.08mph / 41.97km/h

12 Hex (12x6) brushed modified motor

Novak Tempest ESC

18t pinion

Stock wheels & tyres

2S Lipo

Alloy shocks, AMPRO axle wdiget, inverted wheelie bar

Tamiya Mad Bull - rwd

24.31mph / 39.12km/h

10.5T Brushless sensorless motor

Unbranded "blue" ESC

Stock 17t pinion and stock wheels & tyres

Alloy shocks

2S LiPo

FTX Carnage - Non Tamiya

33.54mph / 53.97km/h

Alloy lower chassis, alloy arms & hubs, carbon top deck, stock shocks, stock wheels & tyres. 18t pinion and stock 65t spur. Anti-roll bars front & rear. T-bone bumper front & rear.

4WD - MF-01X

- 54 mph / 87 kph

- Tamiya Karman Ghia body (51635)

- full ball bearings

- TRF shocks and springs

- Tamiya touring car wheels (from a TRF415MS)

- rubber tires, 62mm diameter (Proline I think, carpet compound)

- 26 tooth pinion

- Reedy Kryptonite 10 x 2 brushed motor

- Novak Super Rooster esc

- Spectrum S6040 servo

- Tamiya HD servo saver for MF-01X

- Spectrum 5000mah 100C 2S battery

- Spectrum DX4S radio

Setup: Arms were shimmed to take out play. Front is shimmed to add positive camber, ride height was also done to add positive camber 12mm front and 4mm rear. The diffs are built stock with oil so they are open with no locked up modification

No gyro used and that is about it. Very stock build other than the shocks, wheels and tires.

@ChinookRC updated the list, unfortunately had to list at the 47 since the tumble disqualifies the 54mph run :(. I cant keep track of how many great runs I've lost due to a tiny pebble or simply losing control at higher speed, especially with my silvercan car , car feels perfect into the high 40s but once I get to or above 50 the suspension and downforce seem to disappear and anything sends it flying.
