Did anyone of you shaved your Clodbuster stock chassis for a better Suspensiontravel?

The stock chassis does get in the way when the truck compresses.

This guy talks about how he shaved his chassis in the past:

But the chassis gets very brittle when you shave it that hard.....

I had the idea of melting the front and the rear "lip" of the chassis down with an Iron or something.... So it wouldn`t get cut away. Instead the plastic would be flattned out und would give the Chassis more stability and more clearence for the axles.

I've never carried this out on a Clod chassis , but I have done this sort of thing on other RC parts . This looks like a simple Dremmel job with a drum sander as that is what I would use to do this  .

I just used a lifter kit from UK monsters to get some more clearance then lowered the body shell to make it look right again (but I'm not using the stock body)

If you use servo on axle steering (Like the mod you've ordered), if you replace the stock shocks (Which have little travel) with vintage CVA long shocks or similar, this gives quite an increase in suspension travel on it's own, as the track rods that come out of the bottom of the chassis down the gearboxes are gone, along with the top of the old servo saver mechanism. Just my 2 cents, but I think shaving the chassis in that manner will weaken it.

Are you using Agrios schocks?

No, they are TGM-02 shocks... you can see a bit more of them in this post from my build thread - I found them on ebay for about £10-£15 a pair

Ok, the shocks just look the Agrios Shocks.

The Agrios Shocks are 90mm Eye to Eye, are the TGM-02 shocks the same length? If so, i will buy some Liftplates....

But the Idea to melt the 2 Lips in the Front and the rear down (not cutting them away, just melt them with an Iron to use the melted Plastic as an material support) floats around in my head.

But i think it would ruin the chassis.

I'm pretty sure they are 100mm - but with the lift plates I don't get any bottoming out when jumping...
