internet dead! except tc?

The only website I can access right now is tc [?] nothing else sees a connection. No email no live updates no msn NOTHING! but TC.

Now either we are the last people on earth with computers or I have a problem.

I'm fighting with it now, but if theres any ideas about LMK.

Lot of graphics are missing on ebay pages, as is scorchios signature graphic on this page[xx(]

Interestingly last night most sites were working fine for me, except google which I never remember before to be slow or down! [:0][8)]

Seems like there were at least a couple of problems on the 'Net last night. Pipex reported that one of their major pipes was down between US and UK. NTL had a major DNS outage:

which is what affected Scorch, and also me as the virgin.net service uses the NTL backbone network.

Could be something with the montypics site - I can 'ping' it and make an ftp connection, but can't get at your picture with a browser. HTH. David

You were not alone in having internet problems yesterday, quite a few of the big internet service providers had problems. I hear that BT and NTL were hit pretty hard, so I'm guessing loads of people lost some or all of their internet access yesterday.

Apparently, it was caused by some problem in one of the major transatlantic connections off the French coast. I would guess that people who still had limited access would have been able to use UK, european sites, but not sites from the US.

(Yes, I am a goldmine of useless information)
