Holiday Buggy Racer!

Anyone ever build up a trick Holiday Buggy? That was my first hobby level R/C car I had when I was 10 years old and while I have no intention on getting an original I thought it would fun to build a re-re and race it!

Love it!  I have a holiday buggy that’s in process.  Figured I’d build it first stock with the pogos and the 380 motor just to see how it feels.  But I do have a sport tuned 540 and even some df03 shocks that I thought might be overkill.  I might hold the shocks for something like a TD2 that will probably never happen.  Interested to see what you do.

I built mine with a 380 Sports Tuned motor, kind of original yet not really.

We at Boondal vintage meets have started a H/B Class. It's a very open track modeled on the original Tamiya Test track in the 80's guide book. Very Basic and fast lay out.

So we all decided to fit a Z Run brushless 13t combo with the 19t pinion. Yeah Shocks, Losi 2" step pins. Bearings of course..

We have 5 so far with 3 more being ordered .

They look so cool on the track and they look even better doing a wheel stand with a full seize body shell.

I just finished a silly spec DT02, which would take a HB shell easily

Cool!  What type of battery do you use?

I had used both NiMHs and lipos.

I think I read on here that 380’s and lipo can be a pretty potent combo.  Also I guess if racing you could go with a light low capacity NiMH as well.

It is indeed. On another car I have, it beats the silver can by 5mph, even on a lower gear ratio. (not a Tamiya though). 

For this particular chassis, it actually made FF fun to drive. 

I had not speed checked my Holiday Buggy yet, so not sure how good or bad it is.
