Tamiyastef 1115 Posted March 20 @Busdriver I like the "new style" Ned Flanders, he got rid of his glasses and bought himself a brown pickup . Although the blue one is more modern they both have a nice old school vibe going on, I really like them.

Nicadraus 4941 Posted March 20 @BuggyDad for sure you had a lot of fun there. Is this a DT-02? If so, What wheels are you using?

The wheels are aftermarket kyosho-style pepper pots from jc racing. Reminds me, I ought to get another set.

Reminds me, I ought to get another set. I bought a hex front conversion for my WO but it didn't seem to work. Can you share yours and what brand you used? I like the Kyosho style wheels too. Looks great. Also if you don't mind, can you share clean pics of your DT-03? Thanks in advance!

Mine is the Schumacher Cougar KR conversion kit fitted to TRF201 C hubs. It came from a thread by @matisse Ah yes, here it is: These parts fit together with almost no modification, just a little filing to take the C hub width down to fit in the lower arm. However, more recently we have a new option: Which fits I believe the kit c hubs. Am I right in thinking the DT-03 white kit front uprights are just the same as in many 2wd Tamiyas of old? If so this option might be usable on many cars. Both these options are to replace uprights to fit an axle that spins on bearings in the upright. I didn't like the idea at all of trying to convert a hex wheel to run on a fixed axle.
BuggyDad 2348 Posted March 20 37 minutes ago, Nicadraus said: Also if you don't mind, can you share clean pics of your DT-03? Of course! Hosed down immediately after the muck-fest. It's most definitely not up to your standards but it does perform quite well now! Except the lack of wing - that's a problem I hope soon to fix with a printed wing mount, to place the wing roughly like this:

That's what's important and you're happy. Those shock tower link stabilizers look great and innovative. Nice work! Oh and the wheels really look great on the DT-03. Thanks for the hex hub links too. Bottom one looks like a TT-02 in a parallel universe where every single part has been swapped for something better 😉 Those two are the LC Racing PTG2-R (above) and an upgraded PTG2 (below). They're basically the same. The "R" being an upgraded one just like Tamiya's "R" versions. But the R of PTG2 refers to as "rally". FRP parts from the standard PTG2 have been upgraded with carbon fiber, under chassis is aluminum, comes with chassis lexan shell and fender with mud guards. The PTG2-R is a fantastic high performance rally car. I've seen and driven a couple and boy was I impressed. Handled almost as good as the XV-01/02. The nice thing about these kits are the upgraded parts that come with it. Full ball bearings, all adjustable turnbuckles, metal gear diffs, floating servo holder sealed pion and spur for the R, very nice and well performing aluminum dampers, aluminum center shafts, CVDs, etc. All in a $300 range. There are many videos in YT that you can also check.

It was supposed to be a gentle drive, but the snow conditions were just too good to hold back. Within minutes I was driving it as if I had it since 1987 😅 flying it over dunes and all. I just need time to sort out footage and action shots, and I'll post a nice report about it ✌

Yeah, I just did box art and decided to run silver can to be era specific. Surprisingly the plain body style works great on this car and have no plan to add any more decals. Thanks to @OnTheTrail, I layered yellow and camel yellow, followed by white to get the color to match the tub and wing. In comparison, the TurboScorpion in the last picture runs camel yellow.
