@Ferruz Beautiful Optima Turbo. I told you (probably over a year ago) you would beat me. I have an extra body and two sheets of JPS stickers and gold wheels in my stash just for this but your "gold" matches beautifully. Better than mine will ever be.

Thank you.

I am over the moon with the final result but yes, bringing all that gold to match proved to be a challenge. The decals from MCI -hit or miss in my experience, this time luckily close to impeccable- needed the extra boost of the mirror finishing. The original gold I previously used on my RC10JPS, while nice and vintage looking, was a bit on the beige side for the bling thing I envisioned, and the mirror option was the right solution to that.

The wheels represented the biggest issue and delayed my build by over six months, but am I glad I put in the time to solve the problem. While still not a perfect match to the elusive Kyosho gold, they blend magically with the rest of the parts, also thanks to the many shades in the mirror decals, and look absolutely stunning overall. Had I kept them in the hideous color they came in, no way I would have gotten even close to this result in the end.

I remember you mentioning the same issue with the aluminum rims being way off shade @Tamiyastef so, if you want, I'd be happy to send you the contact of the anodizing company that redid mine. I can' t recommend them enough. Clear communication, flexibility in terms of doing small batches, patience and overall best costumer service ever. They treated me as if my wheels were from a 1:1 Lamborghini instead of a model car, while charging a fraction of the price compared to every other company i got estimates from, and were beside me from the start of the process to the end.

They are based in Italy and I dealt with them in Italian, but I'm pretty sure they do business internationally (they didn't mind shipping and receiving from Canada, and even paid some custom duties in advance for me).

This may solve your issue with the wheels and allow you to get excited about the build again.

Stunning build. Would like to see this JPS Optima Turbo with your JPS RC10 side by side. :)

Thank you. Oh for sure, you will see them side by side very soon! I am definitely planning a photoshoot of the two buggies together, possibly at a scenic location :)

Yes please, allthough I'm afraid that ordering new MCI mirror finish decals + having the wheels redone will be too much (considering current import rates) for a project you already nailed to perfection. But a company in Italy that can anodize might be handy to get some chassis or dampers (re) anodised.

This is very nice and well done. The body fits perfectly.

Is it a DT-02 chassis?

No, it is a DT03 chassis with a modified Neo Fighter body.

More pics can be found in my showroom.

Rick

Oh yeah, the narrow chassis. Beautiful!

I took the tracks off my GF-01 and test fitted some sedan wheels. I think this might be super fun in the parking lot. It's crazy how much lighter the chassis is now. Those tracks were pretty hefty.

Agreed, this is stunning @Ferruz. Is there a build thread for this one?🙂

Will you keep the Suzuki SJ30 body on it?

Thank you 😀 I didn't start a build thread as a couple good ones were already out there, and I thought I wouldn't have much interesting stuff to add to them besides the cosmetic part. My documentation on the matter was limited to a few updates on the daily thread.

In any case I am definitely planning on a photoshoot with both the JPS cars together, whenever time and weather allow!

You should be very proud of the build mate, it's super slick and all the elements work so perfectly together. Well done matey, pure class that one🫡👏

That has to be the smallest RC ever posted in TamiyaClub. Probably 1/1,000,000,000 scale!

Just kidding :).

I accidentally posted a comment in the non comment picture gallery. I do sincerely apologise for the distress I may have caused :unsure:This is the edit as I can't leave the field blank.

:) An option is to edit the post to include a picture. You could keep as is as well, no worries.

It's a good looking beetle. I had one myself but I converted it into a suzuki jimny crawler. I do have a beetle shell to put on my M06 though.

Please excuse my question ... BUT ... why making five posts with one picture instead making one post with five pictures? I thought we are beyond the need of artificially raising the individual post count. 🤷🏼‍♂️
