Hi Guys, first post and a noob question probably but I am tearing my hair out with this issue!

The front dampers, at the bottom where the piston shaft screws through the cup like black plastic thing and into the bit that attaches to the ball joint part- the screw just won't hold at all and I have lost about 5 of the black plastic cups. I love the buggy but its just not enjoyable with this happening all the time- even on smooth tarmac? Meanwhile my sons new DT03 gets bashed to bits and doesn't have any issues whatsoever. Have I done something wrong or is it just time to shelve the DF03 and buy something new? I have screwed them in as firmly as I could!

I know there a fee reported issues with this chassis but I have searched high and low on the net but can't find anything, hence my question :)

Awesome forum guys though and thanks in advance for any help!

Do you mean this type thing that screws on the end of the damper piston and the spring cup slots down onto it?

Apart from popping off the ball stud if its overly worn or split ive never had one come off before unless its not screwed onto the piston shaft properly? This can be a bit tricky as you need to clamp the shaft with some grips to stop it turning (you can get a tool for this)

Hopefully you can tell from the picture mate- its where the very bottom of the piston rod can be seen, where the thread on the silver shaft is. It constantly pops out and the black cup thing with the slot in it disappears. I have tried screwing it in as hard as I can, used a new part for all the bits that come together but to no avail. The back ones never shift and the other front has come out once. Very strange!

Check through your manual bud,

The fronts don't use the ball studs, they slot inside the slot in the wishbone, with a brass bush inside the black rod end.

If you've not a manual, you can download one :-

Ah I may have said that wrong lol- you may be able too just see the brass bit there screwed into the front arm- this bit is fine its the part above that on the actual damper itself where you screw the shaft (oo err) into the cup that has the brass part in? Thanks for you help so far though and I will double check the manual

Aye, the shock should be in the slot of the wishbone (same as the DT03), not where you have it.

Unscrew it, move it and the brass bush, to the slot, and screw it back in, and that should be you! 👍
