So to get to the root of the problem, I took a slow motion video. While all these 4 cars are equipped with brakes, I had not installed the foam yet and this probably calls for some braking on the MA. Looks like you need some additional advertising!!, Have you considered an IRN-BRU marketing campaign yet?

El Gecko 1436 Posted March 25, 2023 Got my old Nikko mini running tonight, although the center driveshaft was binding so I took it out. Still seems to work ok... anyone else running mini 2WD?
Gabranth 217 Posted August 11, 2023 Bought this on impulse because I like the color, and since the box is damaged I got it relatively cheap It's a Super Avante (not that Super Avante), and if anyone wondering what's so super about this version of Super Avante The differences are minor, noticeably fins instead of damper prop and more openings Now that I have VS chassis I tried to fit that spare Avante body I mentioned before and while it fits. the front doesn't clip properly. I could try using the front clip from the Super Avante as it's removable but I don't want to risk breaking it. So yeah, that smoked canopy Avante body there is likely only fit the original Type-2 chassis by default.
Sogogi 3359 Posted August 11, 2023 I wonder if lots of mini 4wd fans actually own tracks.. Mini4wd was my favorite hobby when i was a kid which i used to run at local track, but there is no place around me to run them.. Maybe i need to get few kits to relieve my childhood. GToddC5 1699 Posted August 11, 2023 I'm just seeing this thread now. I have close to 50 Junior buggies and Mini 4wd trucks, mostly from the 80s and 90s. I only have one built so far, but I intend on building more for display next to my 1/10 models as they get built/rebuilt. I love them, they are like "professional" Stompers, for those that remember those things.

Been so long since I touched the track, now I'm just hunting for rare and old model to be collected, built, displayed, and adored. Compared to RC they're relatively much cheaper and take far less room to store so I don't mind collecting them simply as shelf queen. Also I have airbrush setup for scale model so I'm thinking to do some cosmetic customization worthy of display like the entries of this site http://condele.club/
Bwaaatch 625 Posted March 28 Bumping this thread because I am excited about an upcoming trip to a new Mini 4wd racing venue in New Jersey, it's called Sidebite. I'm in the UK, but this is in fact my most accessible Mini 4wd experience, given that almost nothing happens over here, and that I don't speak Italian! Sidebite is brand new (opened in March) and very much modelled on DXN Provisions not he West coast: https://www.instagram.com/dxn_provisions/ Sidebite doesn't have an online shop yet, but seems pretty well stocked with kits and tune-up parts. I plan to go with my daughter, buy a kit, build on site and race in on their 5-lane wooden track! Will reports back when done. Very much looking forward to being in a room with fellow enthusiasts! 1

Bwaaatch 625 Posted April 10 Made it to Sidebite in Hamilton, New Jersey. Will follow up with pics when possible, but must say that it was absolutely fantastic. A wonderful family-run business, for family entertainment, essentially trying to (almost single-handedly) break Mini 4wd as a mainstream hobby for kids in the eastern US. Cannot recommend them highly enough. If you’re in the area, or can be, stop by to build, race, buy and tune. The owner is called Latif and he could not have been a better host. https://www.instagram.com/p/C5UIrQIrd_y/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Gebbly 772 Posted August 15 Thought I'd resurrect this thread as it seemed the most appropriate. After reading I splashed out a huge £14 and bought myself an Abilista. Why that one you ask? Because the picture looked cool obviously Also the description said the shell was white which opens up possibilities of painting it like a static model kit. A question for those into the Mini 4WD scene. There seem to be a lot of different chassis types but as an absolute beginner it is very hard to understand what the differences are could anyone explain? According to RCJaz there are 13 or more chassis! (VZ,AR,FM-A,MA,MS,Super FM,Super I,Super II,Super TZ,Super X,Super XX,TZ-X,VS) Thats a lot for a beginner to get their head around. I have found videos on youtube that suggest they explain the basics but they arent in english. Are particular chassis more suitable if I want to tinker and change parts out and swap bodies etc? Anyone got any guidance at all really?

I have found videos on youtube that suggest they explain the basics but they arent in english. Are particular chassis more suitable if I want to tinker and change parts out and swap bodies etc? Anyone got any guidance at all really? Pretty much all the currently available chassis are equally 'tinkerable', but especially those released since 2005 or so. So you will be safe with any currently produced model, with the exception of specific retro re-res (such as the set of Dash Warriors from a few years ago, which come on Type 3 Chassis first released around 1988). But even back to the older chassis, swapping bodies is usually drop and go – though you get a few exceptions and sometimes a bit of body cutting is needed. The overall length of the body (front clip to rear clip) is standardised, although the wheelbase and width of the different chassis varies by a few mm from generation to generation. So you can feel safe that MOST parts fit MOST chassis. This Tamiya EN page is pretty up to date: https://www.tamiya.com/english/cms/mini4wd_chassis_select.html Most of the serious tinkering is either about making them more effective on track 9 in which case exact parts compatibility is worth checking) or making the super beautiful (in which case do as you feel!) http://condele.club
Sogogi 3359 Posted August 15 Haha i was thinking of that exact tamiya webpage. I am in the process of trying out different chassis if i can get hands on (especially sfm, super x etc). I like the power delivery of pro models (dual shaft motors), but prefer single shaft models probably due to nostalgic reason. If possible, i recommend trying different chassis types that are currently available. (MA, MS, super 2, fm-a, vs) (super-x/xx tz-x kits are discontinued (at least in US), but you can buy chassis separately (they still sell them).
