Also MS build…

Do you know the difference between. All the N and T units? I cannot seem to find any information on them except N/T4 are 72mm wide?

BTW, I really like the MS, more than the more modern MA. In fact I like them so much that I just placed an order for half a dozen of them off PJ.

Do not know much about them except N/T01 is bumperless (one i used for the build) which i like because it gives more freedom on how to put carbon plates.

I do like MS chassis due to its modular design… though it does not have wings for side dampers.

MA chassis is meh for me. People say it is decent for stock racing, but i enjoy other chassis more.

N-01 is the first version. It has a rounded concave shape. All the early MS chassis models came with this one. N-02 is the now more commonly seen bumper that is convex in shape with more attachment points for FRP/Carbon plates. N-03 is the bumperless front, and N-04 is the option part that allows for a wider tread.

T-01 is included with all models. I don't believe they created a T-02. T-03 is the bumperless rear, and T-04 is the option part that allows for the wider tread.

Another day, another build. I really wanted to use the Ultra Dash I mentioned in the other thread but I cannot find the right gears for it.

Not wanting to open another pack of gears at the moment, I dig out a Power Dash, one below the impossible to find Plasma Dash instead.

m6dPDF7.jpg

It is a shame that the beautiful label will be hidden after installation, so one more look here.

0wOy2XY.jpg

It went into an AR Thunder Shot, which will probably be my current fastest car.

fxelBuH.jpg

At the moment, it has G17 + G17 = FDR 3.5, reinforced axel shafts and a reinforced pinion. I don't think it is fit to run and stay on the track in this state. Planned additions for it will be the AR basic tuning set (or at least just a rear brake), coated shaft, bearing rollers (3R) or sliding rollers, various weights and dampers, probably front under guard and may even change the whole chassis to a reinforced one.

I literally just finished this VS chassis (bone stock except for bearings)...

...as the postman dropped this off.

Maybe I should have built something else instead! 🤣

Speaking of something else, while digging in my cupboards, I found a few more kits hidden away!

OK something a little different today.

Am I the only one wishing Tamiya will make this body for the GF chassis? Or even a G6 version of it with the TR portals. Will look better than that DynaHead body.

A member who doesn’t seem to be around much anymore @IBIFTKH made a custom version of this for a WR02 chassis

That is brilliant! However I am not of that skill level, and also, a body made of (plasti)card will worry me if used on a runner; will it fall apart like a literal house of card? Still aa brilliant effort from this member.

Dont worry, me either, if I was, I’d be too scared to use it after all the work

I really like this one. Its really clever putting battery holders on the outside to make them look like some important part of the vehicle like storage units or some space weapon. Nice tidy job by the way :)

Now, if they make a RC version, they can make those holders to hold airsoft nunchuck style packs like this.

It would be an interesting project for someone. Maybe with all the 3D printers these days someone could design and print one. I would think putting the batteries that far out would make it roll a lot on a standard size RC though.

Which is why I was thinking of one of the TR chassis (GF or G6) as they are not meant to go that fast.

That body styling would certainly suit something built as more of a crawler. Like a lunar exploration vehicle or something :)

I'd be up for that one, yes. :)

Another school holidays means another Mini 4WD race meet.

On the grid are some of the most recently built.

I am sad to report that the TS Jr  with the Ultra Dash cannot stay on the track for more than 2 or 3 laps. More mods are required but it's speed is brutal!

Also, the HS MS cannot stay on track with just a Rev Tuned. I thought that chassis shows much potential.

If its speed is that good do you think it would handle a loop-the-loop in the track?

I am sure it can. With the thing correctly set up.

Hi

Does anyone know if the annual official guide book for Mini 4WD is also published in English?

Thanks

Plasticard bodies can be pretty tough. Just use a solvent glue that welds the plastic pieces together, pay a little attention to internal bracing where necessary, avoid the use of filler, and you have a body that is just as tough as it would have been if vacuum formed out of ABS. Maybe even stronger, as the plastic doesn't get pulled thin in the moulding process.

These three are all plasticard. All are vigorous runners. None have broken.
