I've seen and totally admired that egress! In photos on the internet:wub: so now I know who it belongs to;)  what a seriously stunning looking buggy!

Same here with my xls if I had to be replaced the replacement wouldn't have any sentimental value it's that actual buggy and nothing else!

You're too kind. Thank you.

Off topic but what is it about the Cat that is such a pain to build? I hear stories of frustration and injury all the time but don't know what specifically the problem is. Should I get one or steer well clear?

Whatever is my latest TRF race car. (Atm my 420x).

As much as I love all sorts of chassis, the pinnacle of the hobby is the social side to me. So I will always want to be racing against friends.

if it were a tamiya, probably my sand scorcher... possibly my m4 sherman.

if no tamiya requirement, then no doubt it would be my Alvin submersible.

For me, its obviously my DB-02, i can still found its spareparts here, and its the most upgraded tamiya kit i have. Dang i think the hopups itself cost me a new kit.

Definitely get one if you get the chance they are brilliant:D!! which you may think contradicts what I and others have said:rolleyes: the schumacher cat xls is obviously an old design and the early Schumacher's were a kit which you had a lot of fettling to do and the instructions were not tamiya grade (for want of a better word) and schumacher have made it a reincarnation of that original buggy although the instructions are slightly better! I had problems with the shocks and building the drive shafts I cracked two of them because I didn't soften them up enough and you need more than one pair of hands to marry everything up when putting the chassis together and for some bizarre reason the instructions tell you to put the under tray on an the beginning but all it does is constantly get in the way and slowly shred your hand:wacko: but all that (and the trip to A&E ) is all forgiving when it is built and I was sitting staring at it:wub:......its superb IMO

I would be keeping this, my TL-01LA Honda NSX.

In addition to having sentimental value, having belonged to my father, it is still capable of keeping pace with modern plastic chassis cars at club racing level, and if I ever tire of it in its current form, it can be rebuilt into anything from a drifter or rally car to a buggy or monster truck simply by changing suspension, dog bones, wheels and body.

If it’s just for staring at my gt2 ta02

if it’s for bashing my dualhunter with hop ups. Might even be an old thread somewhere with it in action.

For me it is the TA01 Ford Escort tiger stripe. I bought the kit when first released. My brother did the build as he was in cancer treatment at that time.  He wanted his mind occupied with happy things. (He is well since, luckily).

I like how consistently this topic comes up every now and then, fair enough as the answers might change in time.

In my case, I think it would have to be one of my three main runners. Heaps of emotional attachment involved for each of them in three different ways, so it would be a sentimental fight amongst titans!

-The Hornet: it's the rere kit that got me back into RC, building it gave me SO much pleasure and it got even better once I started driving it. I bashed it to badword and back so many times, in the most inhumane weathers and conditions, but with a bit of love and a handful of spares it's always ready to go and never ever lets me down. It makes me happy, every single time I drive it or look at it.

-The Manta Ray: my first ambitious project and by far my most hopped-up, I wanted to build a one-off specimen from the get go and I dedicated a lot of time and effort to it. It was satisfying and by now, after endless tweaks, I really love how it drives. Also, I think I dumped more money on this car than on all the others put together 😅

-the Big Boss: my first hobby grade RC, it has been with me for 30+ years now, loyal and proud in its stance. Even my restored RC10 or my NIB Optima Mid can't compare to what this old rugged truck means to me. All I need to do is close my eyes, put my nose to its tires, take a deep breath and I'm 8 yrs old again 🤣

Yeah... after all, for me it's got to be the Big Boss

My BarbieFoot Bushy D.  Many hours on the bench with many beers and tears, and just as many good afternoon drives…
