Yeah, since I did the first Optima MID in the white box photo theme, the second one is more an anything goes theme.  I am going to try a mix of TS bright orange (which appear more yellow) and PS camel yellow (?) which appear more yellow/orange.   My luck says they will be a close match to each other.. if not, I will go with a metal color wing on the yellow body.

And if all fails, I have a spare body set so I will do silver kind of  like your photo above.  That looks good!

looks good, did u TS straight onto the nylon wing?

Only recently discovered T has a special primer for nylon, bought a can to try but haven’t painted wing yet.

I did because it’s only painted in the protected area of the wing.

Does that nylon primer work on Holiday Buggy recycle-bin type plastic?

Here’s how far I got today..

Thanks! :D That is the Optima MID chassis with a CF dual deck option.

Finally got these yesterday that were missing from my original order.

I wanted a Novak or Tekin but my parents gave me enough money for a Tamiya only. Still much better then a mechanical speed controller though.

But, somehow, I could afford a Trinity Monster Horsepower

This kit never say dirt in its entire life. I was 14 & locked on academics (not by choice<_<). Only managed to run it occasionally on the concrete area in my housing estate. I remembered I even had foam tires on them at one time. Anyway, fond memories of my second hobby grade kit.

Congrats, that's a great vintage vehicle you can keep in your collection for the rest of your life.  :D     You did much better than me.  I was super poor and could only afford second hand cars.. Except for the Brat my grandma bought me when I visited her and a Pajero I got for Christmas from my parents (with no radio/electronics of course).   Kyosho cars to me were for adults, as with Associated RC10's at the time.  Completely out of reach for me.

The present is a good time to make up for lost time of our youths. However, vintage electronics is still hard to find (at least based on my brief research)

I just run modern electronics on my rere's mainly because I don't like the radio to glitch and crash my car.

The only non 2.4GHz radio I trust is my JR Propo R1 with the PCM module.. but that is still late 1990's era, not 1980's so I don't run it.  :D  Plus the receiver is pretty big and heavy.. (normal for it's time)
