Recommended Posts

Hello My name is Theo i am from Greece. I was looking for an M chassis for years to find a proper one. By proper i mean to be the way I wanted. So I found first an M05 VW golf Gti came also with a Turbo Spidi Mini Shell Here.
Like & Subscribe on the youtube channel i am willing to collect all the m chassis slowly slowly. :P
Here is the POV footage with the M05 and the Turbo Spidi Mini Shell

A week after i bought the M05 as i was looking at ebay i found the m01 with the monte carlo lively the minispares 1994 replica. So I bought also this one as the price was very good. Also i have a real Mk1 Mini and that's why i wanted a tamiya mini in first place.
Funny thing? Yesterday at the local Classic Car meet Everyone liked the M01 Mini more than the real thing :P
Here is the footage also of the M01

nice! I did the opposite. I had M01s and M03’s years ago. Sold them off and later bought an ‘82 MK4 mini. Now I wish I still had my old Tamiya minis…

I will reply here because i have one question. I found 3 set of tires on ebay. The slicks ones that i have on the M05 , The ones that look like the yokohama advan which i want an opinion on those i like those because on my real mini i run on yokohama advan A032R , and the stock radials that came with the M01.
What people use most on them? I want the tires to last longer time. And when should i have to change them? when the compound is finished or i will see the handling slow down??

@Xydte RC   Those Advan looking tires are HPI's?  If so, there were different compounds and I can't remember which one it was, but it was pretty horrible at the track.  It costed me a race one time when a buddy of mine recommended it to me..

On my Mini's I only run PitShimizu's.   Tread looks like this..IMG_May142021at94440AM.jpg.681366635f02d43e444e44086565d3a6.jpg

Yes, that is the TA05 M-Four with a brushless setup.

Pit Shimizu is a Japanese company and been around for a while.  They have several different compounds, but I usually run their PS-SM-F as they seem to work well quite broadly over different driving surfaces.  I wasn't sure how long they would be in business so 5-6 years ago I had them run one production lot of PS-SM-F just for me, pre-paid.  I think it was like 50 sets or something.  I hoarded Tamiya's Mini wheels back then as well, so I am all set until the day I die.

M01 Chassis converted to 2S Lipo. I had to cut the battery on the right side in order the cables to fit and don't strech the shell

I just got a pretty good deal on a M01 mini roller, with a Novak Rooster ESC .
the esc will need a new receiver plug soldered on before I can test it.

The Chassis itself will need going through , ball bearings I’m sure and a rod to connect servo to steering .

it’s also got the tabs that support the from body mounts snapped off the gear case / bulkhead assembly.
it look like there is no reproduction of this part and original part sets for the gear case are pricey .
does anyone have any creative solutions for front body mounts ?
I will submit pics of my project later.
