You've got me started now. So many details. 😉 Here are a few of my questions....

How did you manufacture your plastic parts like the arms? I've got a feeling they're not 3d prints? 

Why the arm design as it is with the carbon fibre inserts? Looks like quite a extreme level stiffness or is it about making stiffness adjustable? 

In the photos the drive shafts don't look like a traditional CVD with dog bone end at the gearbox, although I the diagrams they do - have you done something different there? And do I see boots? I've actually ordered some boots to try out on buggies, I don't know whether they'll work. 

Are the shocks your own design and what conditions/reasons are your dual springs for? I have thought about secondary springs for some buggies, where my setup is nice for bumps but far too light for jump landings, but I've never tried it. I'd be interested in trying to achieve a progressive or dual spring setup. 

Bearings in suspension pivots is unusual but cool.

Arms are POM, CNC milled and polished by (my) hand. Aluminum parts are 7075 grade and Titane Grade 5. Mainshaft is on 1/100 tollerance to the inner bearing seat, snug slip fit. Mainshaft geat is Ti Grade 5 as well. Gearbox ORA is 2.17 with 52t diff gear and 2.08 with 50t diff gear.

Inserts keeps debris out, gives you a slick surface. Bottom side is like a sportscar. Also, the ballends for the stabilizer are hold by the upper inserts. You can see it at the manual section A2 & C2.

CVDs are Tamiya DF-02/03. They have some plastic clip inserts along the pins to keep play out of the outdrives and prevent wear. Standard Tamiya stuff as we all know.. Yes there are some rubber boots at the joints and at the outdrives. The one at the outdrive should be put on after you set balldiff. The are a bit pain to roll over the cup but you can do it in a relaxed moment : )

We thought about designing our own dampers but decided to get some Pro-Line ones. We let made some more springs to have a nice range and stepping of spring rates. My first track with my very first Dyna Storm mid motor was as you sayed. Some huge jumps but the rest was a very vibrating surface. Linear damper springs just do one or the other thing. progressive ones can do both.

I have never had such a smooth operating suspention, it is incredible. Maybe bearings need to be replaced the one or other time because they might wear out but they are really cheap. PTFE bushes can be made very easy as an perfect alternative. 6x3x4mm should do it. Easy to do yourself.

Thank you yery much. This project also explains my absence from TC in the last few years. Understandable, isn't it? :)

One more fact. Only my working time on it was 976 hours.

Maybe the one or other hawkeye sees the reference to how the original 211X was delivered that days in eraly 90s. Parts groups are seperated seald in cellophane bags for aluminum / screws & bits / flat parts / bearings / plastic parts and so on. All bags have little pink tags according to the manual group. A lot of tools are included as a ifixit-kit for example.
