Tamiya FF77 Exotek TA07 FWD Conversion Build

Recommended Posts

Since Tamiya didn't make a dedicated mid-motor FF front wheel drive car, I built an Exotek F77 from TA07 & TRF420 parts. If Tamiya were to design & produce a TRF420F or FF05 Evo, I think it would look something like this.

Some pics of completed build.  The build was fun & enjoyable.  It was a bit of experimenting on what worked and what didn't as I was referring to both TA07RR & TRF420X manuals.

I won't use the VW Golf24 bodyset on track.  Have to add a chassis protector, a Blitz YRS bodyset & some track tyres before taking it for a spin.

@T-StudioWorks what bulkheads did you use? I have the RS7, its a great piece of kit so imagine the frontie kit is the same

The Exotek bulkheads are beautiful & fit.  These are the Tamiya TA07 Aluminium Bulkheads Item No 54985.  They are pretty.  😊
