Programmer for HobbyKing X-Car ESC?

Recommended Posts

I believe that this is a rebadged Hobbywing ESC of some kind. The USB or card programmer for it is sold out unfortunately. I believe a Hobbywing programmer can also work for it but not sure which one. Any ideas anyone?

That looks like the blue ones you get off ebay for circa £15.

IIRC, 10BL120.

I don't think it is a QuicRun10BL120 but a cheaper and/or older one. XERun had been mentioned on some forums but there are a lot of confusion and conflicting information.

Definitely not the one in the PDF, sensor port is in a different location.

I've got one of those cheap blue ebay esc and it came without instructions.

After a bit of research, 10BL120 set up procedure was mentioned numerous times.

May I suggest just following 10BL120 set up procedure and see what happens.

At the end of the day, you won't damage it and maybe you will have a functioning esc.

If you mean the push button on switch setting, I know about it. This one did comes with instructions on how to do it, but it is supposed to be able to do more advanced programming with a card or on the PC with an USB adaptor, both of which are sold out. A Hobbywing card is supposed to work with it, I just need to know which one.

@alvinlwh I have the card linked BY @M 800STD if you want a test of it first?

Oh yes, it is either the LED one or LCD one (which I think you also have?).

I've heard a few people rave about these escs.

Seemingly, you can 'flash them with the hobbywing firmware, and they're awesome...

Had a quick look on YouTube, and, looks the LCD one :-

Never really looked too much into it, but , £25 for an esc, flash with hobbywing firmware, giving real boost & turbo options,  so actually better than the 10bl120?!?! 🤯

It depends what firmware has been flashed to it. I have a selection of programmers and usually have to try a few. I have ex run, hobbyking etc. Not as obvious as you might think.
