I was wondering if it might be possible to add a showroom category for 1:1 rides. A lot of people have them under misc but it would be nice if they were all under one place.

I know the site is supposed to be for model cars but I dont know if this might be acceptable as it would be interesting

I agree with Mike. Where would it stop? pretty soon you have a free for all of Girl friends, static models, Bicycles. I think it would better to keep the focus on R/C cars

I also think that the goal of the site would blur a bit. With doing that it would seem we want to focus on 1:1 cars as well. It's a site for R/C models (mainly Tamiya), that's why it's TAMIYAclub after all. [;)]

I dont see why we carnt have a section for 1.1 cars if people dont like it, dont look, or add to that section. I think it would be interseting to see what real cars people drive. And at the end of the day like he said there is already alot of 1.1 cars on here anyway. Which shows how many people WOULD like this section. I would think that most people who are into rc cars are also into 1.1 cars. If we are going to be picky why dont we get rid of all the other makes of rc cars? This site (i think) is all about us getting on as freinds and to do that it would be nice to talk about and see other things than rc rc rc.

well said dhes

if you limit to tamiya as the club title says "tamiyaclub.com" then are you going to edit the site and remove all pictures of anything not tamiya ie other kits, 1:1 dogs cats and other things posted.

like dhes says, we are all friends taking an interestin what each other is into and sharing information.

most people are into cars no matter what size they are, so why not

I've been thinking about another section to people 'own areas' So its not part of the showroom and its doesn't show up on the home page for updates etc, but each user area has one. The number of images would be limited, say 10 items to start off with, but these would be 'uncategorised' ie you could upload what ever you wanted - within the normally accepted rules of decency and common sense of course.

Items in it could then be marked as public, ie anyone browsing you section could use see it, or private - only those people with a password can see them. This would allow people to post pictures of their cars etc for everyone to see, and possible pictures of their family, holiday etc that they want to show to specific people (eg family)

This might actually help clear up the grey area of whats allowed in the showroom and whats not and reduce the number of things in the 'Misc' category. It means another facility for our members and more pictures on our servers - but since we own the servers and they have got acres od space on them its not really a problem. It would really have any impact on the site either for those that just come to the site for all the RC stuff, as you'd only find the areas if a) they were marked as public and B) you went looking for them.

What do you reckon?

that sounds like not only a good compromise, but also a good idea !!

I would love to be able to have some large pics somewhere where my family and friends could go look, but not have every Tom, *** and Harry looking.

Hope it works out.

Folks,

I think that is a darn fine idea, some of us would have no use/interest for in a 1:1 rides ane people would start posting images of irrelevant persons/objects. With a secion or public and/or members only and/or private misc pictures section (nice thinking netsmith) it would benefit everyone including those wishing to post a pic of their 1:1.

It would also help out when a picture is need for reference in the foums.

I think MRC should get the next new "other make" category, MRC was a Tamiya distributor for Americas that stamped their names on Tamiya designed/built cars. The fact that i own a bunch of MRC has nothing to do with me wanting a category (yeah right)

My 2 cents thanks for listening
