futureworks 861 Posted September 18, 2022 Hi there, does anyone recognise this esc? It has no markings to suggest manufacturer or model that I can see. It came to me on an old FF01 rolling chassis I bought recently which had never been used, but was very dirty, so it could be quite old. Thoughts?
alvinlwh 5846 Posted September 18, 2022 That looks like one of those no brand Amazon/ebay/Aliexpress special. I had one before and it smoked on the first connection to a battery. Similar to this. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwEDEdp

Juggular 4914 Posted September 18, 2022 The problem isn't the ESC itself, it's 320A being totally false. When I bought one, it was sold for 15A, I think. But now I see that it's gone up to 320A. (If it's 15A, that'd be 2,100% bluff.) I use one on my Dancing rider, it's working perfectly fine. It doesn't even get warm. (It might work for silver cans too, especially if it came with a used FF01. I wouldn't use it for upgraded motors, though.)

The rate of ESC inflation is rising faster than anything else! 🤣 Anyway, these is one that I blew. Seems too empty to be a 320A ESC.
TurnipJF 9113 Posted September 19, 2022 Chinese amps are smaller than the ones we use in the West. 😁
Juggular 4914 Posted September 19, 2022 I'd say just be suspicious if there isn't a label. East or West, people cheat to get ahead. That's why Truth in Advertisement is enforced in most countries by law. When it's not enforced, consumers and honest sellers are hurt. I'd say we are fortunate that we can come to Tamiya club to ask about fishy products.
