Dye Lunchbox wheels with Rit?

Recommended Posts

What color are you after???

Paint, or find some white HPI superstars or Proline Blackfoot wheels, though I’m not sure of the figment of the Prolines…

Frog Jumper's correct. Any wheel made for the original or re-re Blackfoot would fit. Blackfoot wheels are larger in diameter but narrower than stock Lunch Box wheels. The LB tires can be stretched over BF size wheels but the sidewalls will bulge from their narrower width. Of course going with BF wheels opens you up to many more tire options.

So Blackfoot wheels can be dyed?

No, but some of the 3rd party nylon offerings for the BF can be dyed, like the HPIs or Proline 2526 and 2527.

The BF wheels are 2.2” which was a fairly common size back in the day.  LB wheels are 2.0” and not as common.  Many 3rd parties made 2.2” tires.  I’m particularly fond of the Imex Claw Dawgs…

You might look around for Pumpkin wheels. They come in chrome and black and fit the LB tires.

That's okay if I want chrome, black or white.

Super rare, amark (Imex) used to make LB wheels in different colors….
