Fiat 131 Miafiori Abarth

Recommended Posts

Hi Yoshimitsu San.

Mirafiori.

Mirafiori is a district of the Italian city of Turin, the largest of the districts, where the largest Fiat factory in Italy is located, the historic factory.
Mirafiori is divided into north and south, the factory is in the south, where I lived from my childhood and it was my neighborhood until my 28th year of life.
I spent all my youth in that area.

This Fiat 131 Abarth body is beautiful, who produces it please?

Cool, I didn't know where the name came from. Every day is a school day!

I don't know if I'd call this one beautiful....The shell is from L&L Models in Wales. It's ok, the rear sections profiles are just not correct. There's no getting away from that. The shell is thick enough to be fair but yeah, I won't be doing another 131.

Very cool, how did you do the spot lamps?

These are modified Escort MKII spotlights.👍

Some progress this evening...

The decals over the air intake on the bonnet are enough to make you weep gently into your beer. Dreading the boot now. Theres just not the 'give' you get with Tamiya decals.

It is a world that no longer exists unfortunately.

Spotlights this afternoon.

There's no provision for these with the L&L shell but I had to give it some.

Also Carello, with Sabelt and Lancia, were located near my home.
Some years ago I raced with Tamiya Touring 1/10 against the sons of Sparco.
A friend of mine worked in Magneti Marelli, near Torino.
All these brands come from Torino, Italy.

Anyway this model is beautiful, did you ever considered the "Olio Fiat" livery?

I like it so muck.

As usual a brilliant job. I see what you are saying about the body shape. It’s just too chunky. This is the issue with a lot of the L&L bodies. I’m hoping that the Peugeot I’ve got is ok . It looks right. I also notice the lights/ grill on the 131 are not brilliant. I think you’ve done an amazing job with a flawed product . 👏

I guess this is a copy of the redesigned Rally Legends bodyshell... not only is the rear end terrible, but the wheel arches look totally wrong with the flat, not curved, tops! Funny, the original Rally Legends bodyshell didn't have these problems.

My beat up old DF-03Ra runner. Fortunately I still got three of the old style clear bodies in storage.

It looks good to me. I'm looking forward to seeing it painted up.

The Talbot was really good to be fair in terms of accuracy. Some you win...👌🙌😎
