Tonight when i went onto the home page i find that there's 20 people in the live chat.I click on it...only to find that theres 2 people in there...Me and 1proheus1, is it just me or has this happened to other people as well..Or have i upset some one and theyve all left the room before i get there [?] [?] [?]

I asked the same last night!! seems that people dont close the chat when they go away from the rooms... proteus1 was logged in last night but wasnt there [xx(]

You're ok TD it's just that some people either don't log out correctly, or they have a pop-up filter that stops them logging out properly.

If the logout process isn't done, that persons '1' stays on the counter for a while

The real annoyance is when there's only one other person logged in, but they're not there at all, they're off doing something else [!]

It does throw me a bit..But i thought that when you come out of T/C or the live chat altogether it cuts you off from the live chat so the numbers would rise and fall as per ppl in the room..

Yeah Twin your right I hate it when you go in the chat room and there is a few people in there and you say "hello"..... "hello"... and nothing? [!] Its a chat room! People shouldnt go in the chat room if they are just going to go off and do somthing else. Im sorry if this seems a bit harsh buts it just somthing that has got to me over the last few month.[:I]

Even though it's "live" chat, it's not the same as talking over the phone. People might have went to the toilet, got something to drink, anwsered the phone or kids needed attention. It's not really fun to log in and out everytime you decide to take your eyes off the montior.

When you chat alot like me on IRC for example, you get the hang of it and understand it better.

The correct term for it is AFK, or Away From Keyboard. IRC is much better in the sense that you can change your nickname everytime you need to do something, like when i step away from the computer, i change my nick to Hellbilly_away or Hellbilly_busy.....etc.

As much as you hate not getting an anwser the second you say or ask something, i'm equally annoyed over people that expect you to anwser the second they say something.

I'm sorry if i seem harsh, but after years of online chatting, this is how things most often are.

That may be Hellbilly, but what i am trying to say is that when i come to T/C for the first time i see 20 people in the room .....when i get there...there are one or two people or even in some cases ..none at all. It can be a bit frustrating [!]

I agree, with the 20 ppl in chat when there's 1 or 2 ppl in there it is annoying I guess that's why I use MSN a lot the reason you can't change your name in TC Chat is there was members posing as other members arranging Deals (I don't need to begin to tell you the problems there)

I know Chris went out of his way to get TC Chat secure and has done a great job but I only pop in TC chat every now and then as I / other members start chats in MSN and invite others in till we have around 15+ members chatting some times only 4 in the group but have fun []

while someone from admin is looking at the chat room, would it be possible for the sender of a unique message to get the message displayed in a differnet colour aswell as the reciever

ie you type the first four letters of the persons name and the message goes to them in pink, could the sender have the same message in blue so you can tell if it has worked.

just a thought cos i still get confused with this

I'd like the ability to add members to your "friends" list. Hey I know we are all supposed to be friends, but if I have been having some forum chats with member X, then it would be nice for my PC to chime when he enters the chat room.

I know we have list of who is live on main site, but can't see that in the forum.

Just a suggestion.

That chime thing when someone enters the chat room for Friends sound ok but it does say welcome when everyone enters.

I guess you've set up MSN with different sounds for different ppl for when they log on & off (MSN Plus is Needed) and don't think Chris would be able to incorporate them into the chat as the chat program might not support it
