OK its been a while since our last one, and I know I haven't made the promised winners screen saver yet - but its on my list honest.

The next round of awards starts on Saturday April 3rd and this time to be in with a chance of winning you have to feature and RC model and 'Fire' in it somewhere[}:)]

This doesn't mean you need to torch your favorite model - although these type of entries are also allowed, it can include subtle lighting from fires or candles, 'fire' paint jobs, fireworks, fire backgrounds etc etc - just use your imagination.

The main reason for choosing a theme like this is that we want to encourage people to go out and take new pictures rather than just recycling old ones that have been in their showrooms for ages. This one is meant to test you a little[;)]

Enteries open at the beginning of April so you have a few weeks to prepare. Then its the usual drill...

- Up to 100 models in total

- Up to 2 entries per subscriber.

- Doors close and voting starts either at the end of April or when we get 100 models entered, which ever comes first.

- voting runs through May

- winner announced in June.

This will be a straight vote for your favourite 3 this time, no pop idol style elimination rounds - that just seems to give too many of you headaches (although I thought it was simple and added a bit of interest)

Cheers

Chris, you might want to stress the theme "fire" a bit more to the members as entry requirement. There are some pictures entered right now which I can't see what relationship they have with the subject theme.

Lol - maybe because I opened it in April, people thought I was fooling?

I cleared out the obvious mistakes this morning. Will be doing that daily, so any entered by mistake will normally be out within 24hrs. 'Flame' paint jobs are still valid.

I think part of the problem is it too easy to enter your model without having to read what the instructions/criteria are - this is something I'll look into.

On a side note - anyone that thinks the current enteries are not Spectacular enough for this Fire competition should be please, as it means there is still a gap there the for their own fantastic image, which shoud win hands down![;)]

Hey Chris,

I entered my Mountaineer by mistake. I wanted to see other contestant's entrees and entered mine accidentally. So pls, take it off for it has no "fire" theme on it at all.

Thanks

Hi any idea what the next member awards theme will be? As apart from setting fire to my models I had no pics I could enter into this one [:(]. Its just between my mate and I we have about 7 models waiting to be photographed, a full winters worth of work. I know its very hard to decide on a topic for these awards without it just being the same cars every month, but I do feel (personally[:I]) that there is alot of the models that seem to just say pass the entry rules of fire. And also by the slow uptake of places it also seems that there isnt alot of us on here that want to set our models on fire[:0]. If im in the minority im sorry it is just a personal thing.

I agree uptake is slow, but then I always expected it to be as this months more than any other requires a bit of creativity, effort and planning[}:)]

Like Stefan, I'm also working on something 'special' which doesn't involve burning any of my cars[:)]

If models just scrape through the entry criteria, then its no problem, if the number of entries are low - at least they are having a go and at the end of the day the voters decide if they want them to win or not.

No idea of the next awards yet but there'll be at least a moths warning, so plenty of time to get ready.

Cheers

Nice ''covering' job Stu. Actually I forgot all about it until I was playing with on of the Clods in Seaworld (What batteries do they use in these - they seem to run for ever)

Will get it sorted tomorrow so voting can start.

Cheers
