Boomer, Fox and Greenhopper coming back!

Just announced this morning - the Boomerang, NovaFox and Candy Green Grasshopper are coming back this Summer  

Awesome news, I was really hoping the Boomer would re-appear as it's the only one of the Hotshot-ish family I want to build and run

Cool boomerang every time that made an appearance I always missed it for one reason or another it was my first ever car a raced back in the 80s in my local school hall club! I raced it to death brilliant days!

I’m so delighted to see the Boomerang is coming back. I have an original NIB suspension kit I was going to use for something else but reckon I will keep them for this project now. Looking forward to recreating the boomerang of my childhood.

Really pleased about the Boomerang. It was my very first RC car in 1987. I've been kicking myself for not buying one of the last release. I'll definately be picking on of these up!

Am I right in thinking a Super Sabre is just a Boomerang in a different frock?

 

The Thundershot was a proper new model albeit similar looking with some worthwhile modifications/upgrades to the chassis?

Yep, Super Sabre has the same chassis but with red parts instead of blue or yellow.  It's a development of the Hotshot chassis.

Thundershot was a new chassis/model/series.

This is hard. How on earth am I gonna be able to raise the funds for an Optima Mid? Tamico has a really nice price on the M-08R this week as well. One of those with a nice Escort MK2-body in silver on top is maybe the most sensible for me.

Same here, I think it's going to be popular.

I thought about the Fox too, but given that it has reputation of being a pain to work on I decided against it.  Plus I have plenty of 2WD cars already.

Great news.  Always thought the green Grasshopper looked very nice.  Had a Boomerang and sold it which was silly.  Think I have 4 Foxes but, will be nice for spares as I do use my Fox.

Tamiya makes my decision very easy again. Glad i picked up a cougar classic right before xmas. Now lets hope for some kind of Ultima from Kyosho.

Yes i know, i almost got one last yr but was never a fan of the original. I am hoping for a turbo or more so a ultima pro

They always seem to bring the Fox and the Boomer back around the same time. The Boomerang certainly seems well-loved.

The original isn't quite my favorite either (it was so drastically different in appearance from what took the 1,2,3 positions at the '87 Worlds BITD). I dressed my Ultima re-res up to look different while waiting and hoping for an Ultima Pro...

I had a super sabre as a kid and it was fun but those old tamiya hotshot type don’t interest me anymore. Those ultimas look good, i contemplated doing a Joel Johnson version but at the time 75% of the parts were sold out and who knew when they were coming back

@Rb4276 apparently a new 2wd buggy from Kyosho is coming. The Ultima SB Dirt Master based upon the RB5.
