I bought this Monogram 1/8 scale Camaro kit in rough but saveable condition at a flea market several years ago. I always wanted to convert it to RC, and after a few false starts I'm finally going to start on it in earnest. I figured out that the most likely chassis/suspension donor candidate I have is a DT-02. The width is perfect, and the wheels don't even look half bad on there. Just needs some appropriate tires.

The plan is to make a new flat-plate chassis, but keep as much of the model kit's interior as possible. (I have the whole kit, just showing the body here.) It will probably keep the 380 motor; this thing is going to be fragile, and I don't want it to be fast. Progress will be slow, but if I tell people about it, I'm more likely to stay interested in it and maybe actually finish.

I like that.  Those wheels do look surprisingly good!

For rear tyres, you could try the street tyres from the CC01 Pajero lorider kit.  IIRC the wheels are 2.2, same as the star dish wheels.  You could even narrow a set for the front!
