I'm starting a Rough Rider replica from a DT-02 Holiday Buggy.

Obviously the dampers need upgrading. Any suggestions as to whats best?

e.g. These any good?

RC Aluminium Oil Front/Rear Damper Shocks Absorber for Tamiya DT-...

Interested to see where you end up body shell wise. This should be a fun project. I have considered trying to butcher a Kamtec Rough Rider replica (simple lexan rather than the proper hard shell with roll cage) onto my DT-03 for a wingless retro look. However, it would fit better the shorter wheelbase DT-02.

I'm no expert on shocks but tamiya plastic CVAs are functionally good if you're replacing friction shocks and you can buy the DT-02/3 set. On researching similar on here in the past I have concluded that I wouldn't try cheaper aftermarket aluminium shocks, but the next step up from them for a bit more money is Yeah Racing and they tend to get good reviews.

REX RC's made it look easy on Youtube. Sorry I dont know how to post a link here yet but it appears a straight swap.

It does work beautifully on that chassis. I may still try to do it on my 03. I think it would be pretty much the same cutting at the back but thr nose would probably  have to be cut before it drops, to allow the 03's longer nose to stick out. Or, afis another piece of same colour lexan to the chassis there to extend a little.

My own rationale is because mine spends most of its life wingless for practical reasons, so I'm interested in a shell that doesn't have a wing. I like the period look too, and the colours.
