I'm also in the 2WD buggy camp as usual, with my old ORVs and Hoppers/Hornets plus finally a DT02 this past year.

My favorites for driving are "outlaw" buggies with stadium truck wheels (or stadium trucks with buggy bodies), but a good old standard buggy is always a lot of fun too :D

Absolutely correct.  As longs as they're fairly close, that's okay with me.  Most are stretched in several dimensions to meet chassis already on the market.  Heck, some even come up short in that respect.  The 45th Anniversary Porsche has a body that doesn't match the wheel base with the chassis supplied in the kit!

I've always been a off road buggy guy weather its 2wd, 4wd classic or modern ever since the down of the buggies back in the late 70s early 80s but I do take an interest in all other categories before the buggy arrived when pan cars ruled right up now I've built a fair few pan/on road cars and looking at @Willy iine building the kyosho fantom has given me the itch to scratch to build another pan car I've also built scale trucks and crawlers nitro monster trucks and nitro buggies so for me it's more the different building experiences rather than an actual category! I just love'm all really:wub:

Oh it will, Pumpkins are fun trucks once you throw in some bearings. I just took my Lunchbox out for a spin the other day and I've been amazed with its mix of off-road ability and battery life.

Just know that they handle awful, and don't fall into the trap of throwing parts at it to make it "better". If you want a Lunchbox with a lexan body, double wishbone suspension, oil shocks, 12mm wheel hubs, better wheelie bar, and a hot motor, buy a Stampede.

I feel throwing serious money at an Pumpkin makes zero sense, but there are a few cheap hop up like a rear trans brace, or wheelie bar mod that are more like QOL improvements that don't fundamentally alter the car but make it a better experience.

I am enjoying mine although yet to take for a full rip!

Other than repairs/maintenence I agree, they're good to tinker with and throw spare bits and ends at to beef up the structure.

If I have any real gripe about the Lunchbox its getting the body off the side mounts, the Pumpkins more straightforward in that regard.

I will say one thing about SCTs now that I've looked into them. I'm mixed on them overall.

They look fun on a track, but both my Slash and Torment weren't nearly as fun at home as my Lunchbox, they never stomped over grass as well despite being more powerful.

I will say that after my DT02 I completely "got"  buggies, I just wish I had a decent dirt/gravel area to run them.
