It is first time for me to see m chassis big bore shocks back in stock.. price is real good if you plan to buy some other stuff from PJ, and currency is great… (weak jpy)

I do not know how many do they have, but hope whoever wanted it can take advantage of this.

PJ are now charging vat on all orders, irrespective of if they are over £135 or not.  I'm ok with this, but do I run the risk of getting double charged on vat on an order over £135 if customs intercept it?  My understanding is that as far as UK customs go, orders over £135 should not be charged vat at point of sale so they may not be expecting PJ to have already charged me.

Also, is the £135 threshold on the value of the goods only or the value of the order including shipping>

They used to have orders over £135 unable to check out and you needed to email them to place the order.  I assume at that point they took the VAT off so you're not double charged.  Now you do indeed run the risk of being double charged, so I personally wouldn't place an order over £135.

The £135 VAT limit is on the total value of the goods plus the postage.

TF isn’t it inc poastage? Eg if goods £135 postage £20 = total of £155. Would that incur vat and import duties?

Yep, that's what I mean by plus postage. Sorry if I was unclear.

Your example would raise VAT charges, there's no import duty.

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw my wife holding something up and smiling.  I'll never see this koi fish again!  (Which is a mystery in and of itself. We live and work together, so how is that I never see what she takes from me? Is she eating this stuff?)

Less than 2 weeks is not bad for this haul… not a big fan of the black beetle but hey, it was a very nice gesture. Respect to our Japanese bros and sis. I’m also liking the note they have on the box reminding the shipping courier that the box is being sent to an important person so proper care is appreciated… nice touch…

I've wondered whether or not these properly work...  Product review is important in RC. 

So I tested on our niece's drawing (of teeth?).  It works a lot better than American erasers that are often harder than Thor's hammer, Meowmeow.

I think that is true in general from what i’ve experienced.

Stationary items in Americas (well i can only say about north part) generally are not as good as asian ones. In asia (especially japan / korea) they have so much better quality pens/erasers /notebooks with better paper quality. Only things i remember when i moved to NA are bic ball point pen, yellow pencil with paper ripping eraser on top.

Only used Pilot pens growing up in a third world country… after immigrating to the US, I was shocked that not much people even knew about it…

Quoting my own post... I took a punt in the end and put in an order that came to around £160ish, so well over the threshold.  PJ charged me tax at the point of order so I braced myself to get double charged by HMRC.  According to the tracking info the parcel got checked by customs, but went through without any additional levy, so presumable the online declaration that PJ filled out was all in order.

Sample size of one and all that, so caveat emptor.

They probably cost just a tad bit more too, here in the States, people often buy stationary products based on price vs quality. Note how many of us use disposable BIC pens vs nicer Sakuras or refillable pens.

We won't pay $3 for nicer pens, but we'll happily pay $5 for a tiny cup of coffee!
