Hi

just got the dumbo RC 30$ transmitter.

it would take some time to start working with it as I need to build the car kit first.

but one thing I noticed is that the wheel travel is super short (short travel to the right and to the left until the wheel stops). I am not sure if this is how most transmiters are but I would like to know if this is something to take into consideration for my next transmitter purchase.

how does the travel affects driving?. is a short travel better? worse? just a matter of preference?

thanks!

I am not sure how much turn angle you were expecting on the radio, but they do not rotate more than maybe 45 degrees one way?

Good radios come with exponential if your setup is a bit twitchy or nervous going straight, but most will come with dual rate which attenuates the max turn angle (?) radius (?) on the car..  if that makes sense.  Unless I am driving slow I don't usually use full steering lock to lock so I think your radio should work.. but there are so many variables like servo speeds, suspension setup, etc you'll have to try it first and dial the car in to your preference steering angles included.

In additional to what @Willy iine has said, some more expensive transmitters let you reduce how much the wheel turns even more.

The idea there is that you can get full lock faster. Though of course you’ll lose some ability to fine tune how much steering you want.

The amount of travel you have on yours will be fine and is pretty standard.
