I just assumed it was all hydraulic, pretty interesting.

yeah, hydraulic is the newer tech. pnuematic and flywheel are tested older tech.

if i ever feel down that one thing is broken on my rc car then i just watch these 250lb monsters do their thing.

Today I brought few of my cars to a track (first time). I heard running cars on tracks (or racing) is brutal for cars.. and experienced that today. When my buggy tumbled after a big jump my heart was like oh crap. Also slammed a sidewall running m05 on an onroad track. That actually was quite loud. That being said, can’t imagine the feeling when people purposely break stuff..

Breaking stuff on the track or racing is totally acceptable, it happens :)  Nothing worse than clipping a wall at speed, its usually a miracle if nothing breaks.

As an old skateboarder/bmxer with worn out joints I do enjoy taking my ECX Torment to the skatepark, bashing it instead of me and pushing the limits. The torment was bought for that sole purpose as it generally doesn’t break, the last thing was a shock e-clip when I misjudged and clipped a bench at 30mph.
I really do like freestyle MT as well, it’s class seeing how hard the trucks cash be pushed these days.
That said, I try to look after the rest of my fleet as they are not for sending off a shipping container.
I really do appreciate and genuinely get a lot of the points of views here and the shameless and deliberate destruction that is in vogue is a bit much. A genuine fail on the other hand is good, like the pain reels on old skateboard vids or a smash reel on the old rally vids.
I have room for almost both ends of the spectrum except the extreme deliberate destruction.

RC is much like how skating has gone, it used be like “cool, another skater!” and more and more I find it’s intolerance to other attitudes, styles and aspects but I guess a lot has sadly gone that way in all parts of life.
If I find another RC person round my way I’m just glad that the hobby is keeping going and hopefully as time goes on attitudes will come round to the older ways.

Just yesterday I found the YT channel of Kevin Talbot where he destroys everything.
I commented very bad under the video but I believe he doesn't care.
His earning is 120.000 monthly that means 1.440.000 per year.
Follow the money.
Hobby is dead.

Most youtubers like that are in it for the clicks, not the social aspect. They're not worth the time.

If anything this reflects badly on the companies that hand out freebies to channels like his.

Totally agree. Gone are the days when people actually make videos about stuff that interests them. It all seems to be about making content for the sake of it and just for the clicks.

Some people do make videos about things that interest them, unfortunately they're often drowned out if they don't game the algorithm, or tell you to click buttons like a 4 year old.

Mark Bryan RC is one of the few non-race RC channels I watch, and he actually talks with commentors. I used to watch Aampro but I'm not interested in his latest FMS stuff.

Agreed about Mark Bryan. Very interesting content. Although he has let a few "Banggood/Aliexpress" items slip in, which I'm sure he wouldn't have bought himself to do a review on.

Thats true, hes one of the few channels that I'll put up with doing that since he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Another one is Tamiya Legends that I know very well.
He was interested only on numbers.
I also invented the name of the FB group, then I was kicked off.
He has also a YT channel.
Bad person.

Looks like one of those channels that spends more time talking about boxes and shelf queens than actually driving stuff. How boring!

I quite like Kevin. He presents well, makes good quality content and always seems really supportive of the young people he meets. He way of driving cars is not for me, but he does claim to test cars to the extreme so that others can make a more informed choice.

I think he's inspired lots of people into the hobby, who will hopefully move on from just launching an x maxx at a skate park. He doesn't take himself too seriously which is more than we can say for some on YT. I find the lingo of 'sending' quite cringe worthy, but mainly as I'm now at age when any new word is strange and terrible.

It seems funny to me we complain when people on YT drive their cars too much and again when they drive them too little, as if there is a goldilocks zone of use. Personally I don't get hopped up shelf queens and don't get destroying a car (both seem somewhat of a waste) but each to thier own.

I am sure many here find it odd I only have 1/12 cars driven by a cartoon cat.

Mark Bryan is good. Love Ampro and also scale builders guild.

As well as having good content, they are also all really good presenters and communicators too.

I find a good presenter can get me in even if I am not that interested in the content, hence watching speedrun Trackmania videos, despite having played the game ever.
