I'm painting some wheels with TS paint.  I have to do gold over the silver.  How long do I need to let TS paint dry before I can safely put Tamiya masking tape over the new paint so I don't remove the paint when I take it off?

TIA....

The problem with TS (or any spray paint) is that it tends to go on rather thickly, increasing drying time. I had faced things up even after waiting 24 hours. Airbrush, on the other hand, I just did one today, waited 1 hour after spraying first coat, tape, spray second coat and now already removed tape and all ok.

I go by smell..  Matte paints are usually one hour for me.. and gloss 2 hrs or unless there is still scent I let it dry another hour.

The tape won't peel the paint, rather clouds it if applied too early.
