Busdriver 6088 Posted February 26 (edited) As I have mentioned in a couple of threads recently my first RC was a Scorcher but what I really wanted was the Ranger but it was out of stock and unlikely to be available for a while. So to celebrate my 43rd anniversary of RC I thought well if Tamiya weren’t going to re issue it the only way to get one is to do it myself. So first question? Has anybody done a previous build thread on this idea. There are lots of Ranger bodies on ORV chassis, I have one myself( will revert to being a Brat, which was my number 2 car). My idea is to do a modern take on the Ranger. I will use my Blackfoot body that has been modded to full Ford spec and the do a RE RE Scorcher but with Coil overs rather than torsion bars, modern electrics, updated chassis plate, Aluminium wheels, a diff if one is available along with any ideas that come up. Any thoughts or links would be appreciated EDIT: would like to try and do it for less than £500. It’s a re re Blackfoot body that’s had Ampro Ford emblems and grill fitted to it currently in Ford metallic bronze. Want to make the whole thing just a little more modern!!
