Getting a good setup on modern CVAs is voodoo. Kit ships with 1000wt Tamiya oil.

Problem with CVAs is big gap between piston and damper body. Now I can't remember exact numbers, but it's so big that holes in the piston almost don't matter. TRF delrin pistons were great upgrade for my mini CVAs, but I'm not sure if there's a similar upgrade option for buggy variant.

For the shorts, I use the black blanks that you have to drill yourself. They solve this problem. I couldnt find anything else suitable in the slightly unusual (11mm?) diameter, but in the end I found I like them. I can drill them straight with my bench drill (although I wish I could slow it down more) and in any hole size I want.

I have no idea if it's objectively "good". I just know if I like driving it or not. 1 hole pistons seems to be the consistent feature of all the CVA2 shocks I have built and liked.

I have these in the CVAs on my GH2 EVO and they do seem nice. I bought a pin vise set for putting tiny holes in the pistons.

@Honza the blank pistons are 42332.
