Volkswagen Golf Mk.1 Grp.2 M05 kit. V1 or V2 chassis?

Does anyone know if the current reissue of the M05 Golk Mk1 has the V2 chassis that will accept rectangular LiPo batteries? Or is it using the original chassis with the oval cutout?

I'm fairly certain that all of the regular M05 kits use the V1 chassis.

I can't tell if the V2 parts are optional with respect to each other and you only need them all to get the full effect, or if the V2 parts are all required and it won't work at all if one is missing.

I can confirm you only need 54605 if all you care about is the square battery fitment. Tamiya suggests tape to hold the battery in but you can use velcro straps or make some brackets pretty easily. I 3d printed this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4148207
