Hi,

I am looking for replacement STREET tires for front and rear for Blitzer beetle.  Tamiya has a single sized Street Rover tires, but is there anything else better as the front wheels are narrow and the rear wheels are wider.

Suggestion can be aftermarket and does not need to be Tamiya brand.  They can be street treads or mini pin tires.

Thanks in advance

Try Schumacher v2/4’s. Not strictly street tyres but do the job

Thanks.
Do you have a model number or website?   Google search comes up with mixed results.

Any 2.2 truck tire fits.  Don’t get the 2.2 buggy nor 2.2/3.0 tires.  Duratrax makes street tires in this size:  bandito and street tread.

I was going to suggest proline dirt hawgs but like a lot of tyres they are no longer in production or very expensive. The street rover tyres are probably your best bet.

Yeah, unfortunately most of Prolines awesome catalog is discontinued…

Would the Traxxas Anaconda tires intended for the Bandit buggy rear wheels (2.2") work? https://traxxas.com/products/parts/2478

I have been looking for higher-traction replacement tires for the original-equipment Street Rover tires on my 58610 Aqroshot.

Thanks. These look promising.  How have you been finding the stock tires in the Aqroshot?   You mention issues with traction above.  Did you glue the wheels to tires?

I'm considering just buying a cheap used Blitzer Beetle for it's wheels and body.  (My current BB is almost new) Would worn out stock tires be ok for running on streets?

The stock tires on the Aqroshot are the same ones as on the Street Rover. They seem not to have great grip, and the car has a lot of oversteer when driving (the back-end slides out). I'm hoping replacing at least the rear tires with something softer will help.

Just to be clear, I don't yet know if the Traxxas Anaconda tires intended for the Bandit buggy's rear wheels will fit the stock Aqroshot wheels, but I'll give it a try!

Not having much (or any) tread pattern should work fine for running on streets. Maybe even better than having any pins/spikes/blocks from a fresh off-road tire.

Forgot to say -- I haven't glued the stock Aqroshot tires to the wheels. The tires seem attached well, and don't rotate on the wheels. I also am running only brushed-motor power with a 6-cell NiMH battery -- so not a lot of torque being sent to the wheels!

Thanks, @Sgt.Speirs, those Pro-Line Hoosier "dirt oval" tires would work really well!

One thing I just thought of: mounting any tire made of a softer rubber compound, I'll probably have to glue them, as the original Tamiya tires are sturdy enough to stay on the wheel well on their own.

I haven't got a set (yet), but yes I think the Anacondas are for buggy rear wheels, so they should fit the front of the Blitzer/Aqroshot. I'd like to get a set for tarmac running on the rear of my DT02 and others.

I don't know how soft they are, but if they're anything like the Traxxas Canyon tires I got for another car, then you might not need glue. The tires are fairly soft, but the bead is nice and tight. I put a few small drops of superglue on there just to keep the wheels from spinning in the tires under hard acceleration, but just like the tiniest dots of glue so I can still swap them easily in the future, nothing like the full bead of glue you would typically need.

FYI those Traxxas Canyons will fit the larger rear wheels of the Blitzer, as well as Blackfoot etc. They're nice and meaty for offroad grip, and I was surprised at the level of grip onroad as well. I even ran them without the foams in the snow and they held up (and held on the wheels) just fine. They're also cheap and easily available, and while I hate giving money to Traxxas, they're a good deal for a basher, especially since they include foams. I think the Anacondas do, too.

@El Gecko , thanks for the callout on the Traxxas Canyon 2.2" tires. Are these the items, originally intended for the TRX-4 trail models? https://traxxas.com/products/parts/8170

I think the TRX-4 versions are crawler tires, so they'd be too tall and soft for the Blitzer which needs more of a stadium truck tire, wide and low profile. I use part #7270 "Canyon AT tires with foam inserts" which are a direct replacement for Blitzer rears, although they are a little meatier overall, with taller/deeper and wider tread. They're the stock tires for the 1/16 Summit chassis.
