Backyard track

Recommended Posts

After participating in a couple of 10th scale races, realised my backyard track needs to bit of an updating. Existing layout is not smooth. Too many jumps at the turn and some  jumps at an angle in which the kit does not land on the track. Not a good flowing layout.

So, some thoughts :

track_rev2.png

1) Add 2 10th scale jumps on th straight at the top

2) delete 1 8th scale jump on the right side and maintain the other butr scale down to 10th so that the car is not at the turn upon landing

3) Instead of the awkward triple jumps at the infield where the car will not land on the track if not careful, delete the jumps and conver to wash board

4) shift the 2 mini jump to the earlier part of the track again to avoid having to land & have to turn immediately

Hopefull with this mod, the track wil be more smooth & flow better (i.e. no need to pick up the car so often )

All are welcome. This was a fever filled pandemic project when the whole country was under lock down.

Work in progress. Much smoother flow with this slight modification.

Where are you Malaysia? My dad is from Malacca, but lives in KL.

That's quite some plot!

Got rid of the weed. Added more top soil. Beed a fix a little water ponding on the top right corner at the start of the stright. Otherwise all good for practice.

So far it's around 22-23s lap with a 10th scale mod buggy. Need to do better.

@joeling  wow, your 'backyard' track rivals commercial tracks!  :D   Congrats on your project.  Looks fantastic and the space looks perfect to stretch out your cars's legs.
