The problem is being small, it has low capacity. How much amps it can give is calculated by C x Ah, 30 X 1.6 = 48A in your case, 35 X 1.6 = 56A in my example above. I think this is quite borderline for even the stock motor.

Of course there is the problem of it being too small for the battery tray, you will need a lot of padding or some other way of securing it.

What should be minimal NiMh battery for Torque Tuned motor?

In terms of TT-02. If you do not want to go crazy with upgrades, think about:

- Bearings

- Aluminium sterring bridge ( not whole set!)

Do not hurry, build it slowly and try to understand what is purpose of each part. Check manual few times, before you do anything.

Yes! Ive ordered bearings as well! I figured I would at least get that, because of how hard it seems to replace them once you build a tt02.

What does the aluminum steering bridge do? Does it help with improving steering angle?

And sounds good, Ill be sure to take my time building it. Though Im itching to get it together so I can drive it 😅

It helps with the 'loose' steering, TTs are not known for their precision. Consider getting a 3rd party like GPM, YR or even nameless China. They come complete and are cheaper than Tamiya's own.

Ohh I see. Is the stock one that bad? Is the stock one doable for someone like me? (Not club racing or trying to break any records)

Really depends on who you ask and not wanting to pour cold water on your first RC. 🤐

Ok 😂

I guess Ill put my kit together when it comes and see what I think of it after I get to run it 😅

Thanks so much!

Yes, that's the best way. You can easily spend 3 or more times the price you paid for the kit on upgrades, which only brings minor (or even no) improvements. So just drive it as it is will be best. When you decided to get upgrades, look at 3rd parties as well, they are usually far cheaper than Tamiya's.

Will do!

Yes, to an extent. They can be built to 55mm, which is what the TT-02 needs but travel stroke will be rather limited. Also note that you will need two sets of 50519 for the whole car while only one of 54753, so the difference is $8.

Where did you find that handy page? I dont see one in my TT02 manual or the CVA packet.

I notice in the above, number 3 is a "4wd rally car" spec and 4 is a "4wd touring car" spec. In terms of Tamiya RC cars what is considered a "rally" car and what is considered a "touring" car.

(Not even sure what the difference between rally and touring is in the real world)

Thats great, thanks @alvinlwh. Maybe its because I bought the pack of 4 dampers but the CVA minis I got for my GF-01 (53619) and the CVA super minis I just got for my TT02 (54753). Have information only in an oriental (Japanese?) character set so I had no idea what that was. I'm going to have to save that image as its extremely useful. The instructions I have are :

I normally don't bother with "shadow stock", had a number of bad experiences.

Oh thats a shame. I'm not keen on any of the "shadow stock" or "pre-order" or any of that jazz either but I gave it a go as I had received good customer service from Wheelspin before. It only took 6 days from placing the order to it all being shipped.
