TA05 Upgrading Issues

Recommended Posts

Currently in the process of building up my TA05 with a bunch of upgrades. However, it seems that either I'm doing something wrong or the parts are just not compatible.

I tried installing TB-EVO IV reversible suspension arms (Part #51104) to go along with some swing shafts from 3Racing (TA05-26).

However, I've been struggling with inserting the shafts (MB14 and MB15) that connects the hub carrier to the suspension arms. No matter how hard I try, it seems as if the hole is just not the right diameter for the shafts. I have also tried this with suspension arms from the TA05-IFS (Part #51297) (as its the same shape) only to have the same result. What's weird is that the shafts slide into the original suspension arms perfectly fine.

So, basically I'm not sure if the suspension arms I got are designed for a smaller diameter shaft or if I'm just an idiot and doing something wrong.

Either way, I'm sure there's a bunch of people here that are far more knowledgeable than me

The updated arms are 2.6mm in diameter. If you look at the TA05v2 you can see the sizes. I'm not entirely sure what arms are from the TB EVO IV reversible arms but probably similar.

Here's the TA05 reversible suspension arm kit. Note the 4 shafts below the wheel axle and they have a flatten spot. That's where the set screws from the C hub and the rear hub meet and holds the shafts in place instead of the older e-clips.

Ahhhh I see (makes a lot more sense). After measuring the original shafts, it appears that they are 2.7mm in diameter which would make sense why they're not fitting. Now its just a matter of grabbing some of the right ones. Thanks!
