Wayne Campbell 2 Posted May 25, 2023 I am looking for a K.I.T.T. cockpit from the 80ies series Knight Rider. Scale 1:10. I’d even be happy with a whole model car kit. But all I can find are die-cast models, much smaller scales, or RCs without cockpit… Seems impossible to find. Can someone in here point me in the right direction? Superluminal 3841 Posted May 25, 2023 I think unless there was toy back in the day at roughly 1:10 scale that came with a cockpit you can salvage your probably going to be in the realms of needing to scratch build one. You could potentially use one of the Tamiya or Killerbody cockpits as a starting point and fab the reat from styreme sheet. Alternatively if someone has modelled one for 3D printing you might be able to get hold of that and scale it to fit.
Saito2 7236 Posted May 25, 2023 Kenner made a fairly big version of K.I.T.T. that talked when you pressed the rear license plate. I remember it had to be reasonably big because it came with a Michael Knight figure that was bigger than most action figures at that time. I think Diamond made a larger one too, but it was only 1/15 scale IIRC.
SuperChamp82 745 Posted May 26, 2023 Aoshima sold a 1/10 Knight Rider lexan shell a while ago: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=97798 They’re v rare NIP these days - but you can still buy their 1/24 that would fit on a TamTech ? The original 1/10 shells propagated a v cool suite of aftermarket LED / sound sets in the US - which are even rarer 👍
Wayne Campbell 2 Posted January 15 Nice one, but I need a cockpit for a project, not the car.
