Tamiya 56502 semi trailer lighting kit

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a wireing diagram for the six pin ps/2 plug and wire harness for fitting in the Trailer. I already have the Tractor wireing harness that connects into the MFC  unit / socket that receives the round ps/2 plug.  I know that this trailer harness has some sort of link across the red stop led's and wonder if this is a resistor or diode.  Also details of pin connections if possible.   The reason why I want these details is that I am about to start building the Fuel tanker trailer kit and the wiring kit is not available from any UK stockists at present and will not be available until much later this year.   I have all the Led's wire and plug so might as well make my own harness up.

Trailer light instruction sheet :

Left Blinker - Red & Brown

Right Blinker - Orange & Yellow

Brake Lights - Blue & Green

There is a link wire between the brake lights as you mention with 'something' inside a small piece of heat shrink but not sure what without removing it.

Hi Philbyw

if you are just after the mfc connector and round “DIN” socket then Astec models sell these already assembled for £8.95 which comes in handy if you have several tractor trucks and maybe one trailer

I know this is an old post.

Part of the question not answered.

It is a resister in that link wire for red tail lights not a diode.

Like a 290 ohm but not sure on that, been a while.

It does the difference between run and then brake lights. How brake lights are brighter.

Just throwing another angle (opinion) in... I gave up on the whole concept. Like the rest of the Tamiya MFC- 01/03, it's limited in use and expansion.

My Trailers now have their own RC receiver, batry, and one of these.......

NOT as difficult as you might think... or have been told! To make it all play nice together, simply bind the receivers from the truck AND trailer at the same time, to the transmitter.

It's worth considering at least. Everything fits neatly between the trailer's frame rails, under the trailer. Can be powered by a small 2S lipo, small 6 cell NiMh, or AA batteries... 😉
