Pinion gear face width?

Hello guys. I have a question about pinion gears. Today I changed my clodbuster pinion from stock Aluminium to Steel. The pitch and teeth are the same but I noticed the steel one has smaller face width (slightly though). Will this be an issue? many thanks.

No issue, but you will see that the gear will wear where it makes contact down the road.  It's normal.
