Busdriver 6087 Posted July 12 This is in no way is intended to be controversial but I have noticed recently that it has been far more difficult to contact Admin than when I joined.Especially @netsmithUK who in some cases is the only one that can help with certain problems like TCPhotos. I fully understand the commitment and time it takes to be one and alas I have neither the time nor the technical skills. My question is simply what happens to the forum should the current admin team, for what ever reason, are unable to carry on. Does it continue to run until it breaks and not be mended or is there a backup plan

I personally have been a bit distracted due to a huge business commitment for work. I have been commuting back and fore to the USA from the UK every two weeks from Feb and that has meant a lull in Tamiya and Tamiyaclub. I finish that soon but as always things do get in the way of being sat at the PC looking for issues. I am planning to get to be able to do Avatar work and that will help with the most commonly requested issue. I will now force myself to buy something non Tamiya as a penance. RichieRich 567 Posted July 13 Hey Adam! Maybe you can ask Chris to give you the ability to boot scammers off the site. That seems to be a frequent problem of late. Also, you're frequently in the US and have not visited? What gives?
netsmithUK 471 Posted July 13 Always glad to hear from members that are passionate about the club, so feedback is always welcome. Im still around and the process for things 'only I can do' is ACPRC takes it as far as he can and then contacts me direct if it requires my level of access. I've tried to open more of this up so other admins can do more but it hasn't worked so far. Will look into it again now and have another go at giving the admins the full keys to the drinks cabinet. BTW it was never about my faith in the other admins more the fact that because of the way the main site integrates with the forum and the fact the main site code is all written by me and the forum is a third party solution, some of the admin features don't really have a nice interface so changes involve jumping into the actual code or database, which brings ample opportunity to accidentally do pretty major things (as I have done myself several times!) Like I said I'll have another go to open up more but you have my attention now, so if there is anything anyone in specific needs doing just post it here and I'll see what I can do. Regards Chris 1

I actually haven't even had the chance to look for local Hobby Shops however I have managed to get parts sent to the US Hotel where the Ebay seller wouldn't ship to the UK! On the subject of scammers it would be great to have the ability to kick them out. Its a constant threat/worry on the many Facebook groups I moderate. @netsmithUK

I obviously have to be careful but any obvious scammers feed them into me.
